Saw one on closeout at Tractor Supply for $339. Tag say normal price is $429. It's a cast iron head, belt drive, oiled 2 h.p motor with a 30 gallon tank. It would just be for my home garage/shop.

I've been rocking an old Porter Cable contractor compressor (made back when they put out decent contractor compressors...). So, this would definitely be a step up, but not sure if I need the 60 gallon/3.5 h.p. model. The 2 horse power model is 110v, so I would not have to get a 220v installed like I would if I got the bigger model. I know the 220v would have more capacity, just not sure if I need it, and it would be a hassle getting 220 run.

I'm not doing too much at home, just air gun, air ratchet, cut off wheel, etc. I'd like to spray some finishes on some wood working projects.

So, anyone have one? Decent quality/does it last? Says assembled in USA, but the motor is made in Mexico. Thanks.

Yeah I had one for a few months (moved and had to sell it)

It was a decent little compressor. The tank capacity isn't exactly huge. I imagine spraying could be an exercise in frustration, though, you'll be stopping frequently I think.

I used mine for impact wrench, filling tires, that kind of thing, nothing that required a real continious flow and it worked very well for general garage use.

Thanks for the feedback. It does seem a little small, but it would be a step up from where I am now. Just curious on people's experiences with them, as I don't want to buy it if it's a POS...

A better bet might be to hold onto your cash and build it up some more to a better compressor if you want to do stuff that is more demanding on air flow.

You can only get so much from that circuit. I would learn to run a wire, the small comp is better than nothing but the bigger unit is a LOT better in this case for a bit more effort.
