need help with wiring a cab visor

I have a Lund moon visor for my truck that has a worn out harness that's shot beyond recognition. The Lund 41101 is the wiring kit, but I don't need the lenses covers and feel the harness can be made cheaper then $50+shipping and faster too. But I lost with anything that has to deal with wiring, and it seems simple enough. Also, when it gets installed, could it be wired into the turn signals to flash with them, while still having them on with the running lights? Or would that require a dual filiment bulb?

If not, how do I wire in 5 lights in series? I seem to remember on another moon visor I had the lights were wired in a "ww" shape with each leg of the w being hot. But that don't make sense to me.

Could I run two wires into one side of a but connector with the other side going to the bulb stalk? Then continue that method till i get to the last bulb and then run the length needed to tie into the vehicle?

Not real familiar with the visor but how do the wires come off the bulbs. If you have two wires for each bulb one should be positive and one neg. just take all the positives and put together and same with negatives. If you do turn signals you just do half for each side and then run wires down to each turn signal.

Attached is a very rough sketch of how to wire this with or without signal lights. These lights are wired in Parallel, not in series.

I assume each light either has 2 wires coming out of it or 2 terminals? If only 1 terminal or wire then the light must be commonly grounded through the visor.

Yeah that will work. As long as you keep them the same for each and don't mix up wires, even though most lights will work if wired backwards.

Not sure what you are asking. The 2 wires from each bulb are NOT to be connected together. all the + wires from each bulb can connect together and are kept separate from the - wires from each bulb....

Are these LED or Incandescent lights? If they are LED they are polarity sensitive.

I mean to run the negative or positive, run the same wire from the other bulb in the circuit.

The I goes the the bulb and the M would be the harness. Then do the same for - and +.

You didn't mention the make or model.

One major problem is that some not all (modern)trucks is that it requires these special harness's to have all your other devices and equipment still work correctly.

If the existing harness is toast, I'd get OEM replacemet and not from
a junk yard. This is not like cutting in a old tape deck much less a modern device.

These systems are run tight and lean, and you need to follow what they ask for!

You need the correct harness for old toy to work correctly with new toy.

Its a cab visor... its not OEM... nothing special about the harness..this harness is going to be a same regardless of make.. not modern either.. they've been around for decades.

Basiclly you are jumpering at the harness? Either way dont let any smoke or sparks out. Cheers
