Hazet owners please come in

I'm looking into getting hazet 600n wrench sets. I was talking with my matco truck guy and they happen to come up in conversation and he said he can get them in a couple weeks. The monthly special for matco has their combination wrench sets on sale as well. I can't seem to make up my mind which way I should go, both I'm sure are high quality tools that will serve me well so I doubt I can go wrong either way. Just looking for anything or any experiences that could push me in either direction. Thanks.

Experience...look all the other threads about HAZET...600N will work even when the Jetsons or Bender is comming.

If he can get a set for you ,you could look at them and compare the Matco and Hazet wrenches side by side. They`re not as shiny as the other ones but you`ll find them in a lot of car repair shops over here and many people prefer the rougher finish which offers better grip and less slipping even with oily hands or WD-40/Rust remover all over your hands (and wrenches). (and they should be less expensive too )

Thanks, I have seen those but they don't get old. My matco truck guy said he can for sure get the metric set, he's got to call on the standard set. Now if I can just figure out what the hold up is on my tax return... I got my matco toolbox last friday, now I just need to fill it up. I took most of my nicer tools home that I don't frequently use at work but it's still pretty barren.

My opinion on Hazet is probably pretty worthless, because I only have 3 or 4 Hazet wrenches, but my impression of them is this: High-end quality without the flash of high-polish. The satin finish is really nice. Very fine-satin if that means anything. I really like them and eventually I will have a set of 600n's in both SAE and Metric.

Not wanting to attract the wrath of German tool lovers but, if you like that satin finish, have you considered the Toptul satin wrench versions?
I have a large assortment of matco wrenches that, I got from my favorite tool store, Ebay. I like them and they have served me well.

As a matter of fact, I was looking at the toptul wrench set for at work. If someplace ever has a regular online store setup for them I'll probably pick up some toptul products.

sure there are a lot wrench manufacturers out there, it depends on how much you wanna spend.... But if you already planned on buying Matco or Hazet then i wouldn`t mention Toptul in the same sentence. Sorry I don`t want to tread on someones toes here as a newbie but satin finish isn`t simply satin finish...(and polished is not always polished...)...

The only Hazet wrenches I own are a set of tappet wrenches. They are high quality, and very durable. I would buy the one that feels best in your hand, then worry about the cost. Its only money and the goverment just printed 3/4 of trillion more this year.

Honestly I'm looking for high quality stuff for at home, and less expensive but still high quality tools for at work(things I won't cry about losing from growing legs in a shop environment). The kind of work I'm doing I don't picture myself breaking anything when I'm using it properly 99.997% of the time. I'm basically doing the **** work at a dealership right now - oil change/rotates, brakes, used car inspections/pre delivery inspections, things of that nature. A new shop is on the way and will have built in snapon tool storage, so I'm looking at pretty much all high quality tools for at home. My work is right down the street from a sears so if I had a 200$ or so craftsman on sale set I think it would have me covered at work, and I can take my nicer stuff home. I've already taken my torx/tamperproof torx/recessed torx/hex/ball hex set home and replaced it with a cheap 'evolv' set from sears, as well as my matco ratchet wrenches, fine tooth ratchets, ac manifold gauges, etc. Maybe I'm looking at my job totally wrong but the more I do this(I started July of last year) the more I feel its the person more so than the tools or box or anything of that nature that gets the job done. I'd rather have my nice stuff at home instead of at work where someone can make off with it. I joined this site as a person turning wrenches and I think you guys are turning me into a tool collector

The look of those Hazets are really starting to grow on me. Not that it matters, unless I find some new and cheap I will not be buying any since I really do not need them. I'm just sayin...........

If your looking for top quality satin finish combi's take a look at the Stahlwille range in my oppinion they are the best. I'm sure they are available in the States.....

There is no question, that TOPTUL is taking design/visual cues from the German tool companies; like Hazet and Stahlwille!
