Seeking Clarity on Prep: Diamond Cup Wheels VS Diamabrush

I used a Diamabrush 25g disk with a Clarke floor machine from HD to do the majority of the prep on my garage floor.

Now I need to do the curbing and stairs, then of course the corners and edges that the big machine missed.

I have a 4.5" double-row diamond cup wheel that I used to grind down and remove some lips and edges. This worked great for removing the concrete.

But I'm also seeing a diamond cup wheel used to PREP and profile the surface as well.

Does a diamond cup wheel create the same type of bonding profile that a Diamabrush will? Seems to me that they are too aggressive and may not necessarily leave the right profile. But that's the question I'm asking.

(Another issue: my grinder is not variable speed, so I feel it may be tough to properly surface the concrete at 10k RPM. But maybe that will work regardless?)

Thanks.

In short, yes. Diamond cup wheels come in handy for extremely dense concrete and other hard to remove coatings. Most professional installers use diamond cup wheels for these reasons as well as others. The Diamabrush will provide an excellent profile for the majority of concrete garage floors out there.

Ok that is what I gathered. Thanks for the input.
