Hello, I am looking for some screwdrivers that are under $50 and have a life time warranty that is not a pain in the *** to work with. I only really need philips head drivers, I have never had an issue with flat had screwdrivers getting mangled.

Since you stated "good", IMO the CM set is considered in the good category with life-time warranty/usa and usually way under $50 on sale monthly.

Geeze, how fast do you go through philips drivers? The warranty issue will be your biggest hurdle. I'd look at the euro brands, that is where my next set is coming from. IIRC Craftsman is discontinuing the pro line, leaving little options outside of truck brand, mail order, euro or off shore.

After taking out 50 ish wood screws with only a philips head screwdriver, I wanted to kill my self afterwards because it was such a ***** to do. The husky set I got works well for my tool box but I need something to use in the garage and with electronics.

Proto.

If you can get away with a ratcheting screwdriver the Snap On is awesome and their Phillips bits are the best I have usee.

If I'm removing over a handful of screws it's time for power tools.

Compact 12v impact driver and bits? They sell packs of them at hardware stores which works out to a quarter a piece so warranty really isn't a concern.

Can you link some sets? I have heard of proto but it seems like they got a lot of stuff to sift through.

Just going to say it makes zero sense to get a brand like Williams or Proto if you don't have a local source for replacement. You're better off getting Home-Depot, Craftsman, or dare I say HF Pittsburgh Pro drivers (actually pretty decent). It doesn't make sense to buy into a brand when you're going to have to mail away to replace a single screwdriver.

If you axe the warranty considerations and just buy based on the tips wearing like Iron you'll have more options.

DeWalt or Stanley in the contractor world are top notch. That's pretty much all I use. Not sure what their warranty is. Snap On and SK in the automotive world are tops in my opinion and all I use in that realm.

I don't like to crossover my tools. I do kitchen and bathroom remodeling as a hobby now. I have no desire to transfer automotive grease onto some unstained hardwood or freshly painted walls. No matter how much I clean my stuff I still get dirty hands from just picking stuff up in my box.

I would rather spend a little more up front knowing I have something that fits my hand, is easy to use, and has a warranty.

IMO, Craftsman phillips head drivers are the worst I've ever used. Here is a set from Wiha Tools; 12 piece set for $58.62. It comes with a lifetime warranty.

If I'm going to remove one wood screw, it's time for the power tools.

SK, Wiha, Wera are good drivers (laser tips get a lot of praise) however these brands will not warranty wear and tear.

Must be grainger. Just tell them you work for a large local company and try to get their contractor price. It will be much much better

but williams and proto are USA made, higher prices keep USA workers employed.

How much better? Their prices seem insane, just shat a brick seeing how much they wanted for some wire strippers, double normal price. $90.85 for a buck 110? No thanks.
Grainger does not have williams, this place I was looking at has williams https://www.motionindustries.com/taxonomy/browse/en. My uncle is a contractor so I think I could get a contractor price.

The price the supply place is asking is too much for me compared to amazon.

I prefer Snap On phillips screwdrivers. They never seem to wear out.

Check e-bay and the classifieds here on GJ.

Do you have the hard handle ones like the ones by williams? I think I might get the williams if they are truly the same as snap on ones.

They are one in the same, and you can get them in any color you want as long as it's black.

I've got a set of Williams hard handles and really like them. I've not had to warranty any yet, but I consider screwdrivers to be wear items so I treat my Williams with care and use beaters when possible.

For electronics I'm guessing you want small drivers. Wiha makes excellent quality small electronics drivers. Check out their site, the "tech tools" catalog and the "ESD safe" catalog. I have several sets and can confirm quality.

I love my Klein cushion grips. Not sure if they make a Phillips set though, might need to build it.
