My new to me, metal barn has square tubing framing, with stud/trusses spaced 45" on center.
I want to screw 7/16" OSB to the bottom of the trusses, and also on the walls.
loose or batt insulation on top of and behind OSB.
The insulation doesn't weigh much, but am wondering if anyone has hung 7/16" OSB on 45" centers and had much sag?

Paint. What type paint has anyone used on OSB? I want a white, and think gloss would be best. Oil or latex? Primer? I haven't painted OSB before, but think it would **** up paint.
Of course I am trying to save bucks, and make it an easy job, with good results.
The finished/insulated side of the shop will just be for wood working. Not a social center.

It sags on roof at 24" so on 48" it would sag a lot. You really need to put some support for it.

I've used and will again use Kilz oil based primer on OSB, two coats. For the buck, buy it in a 5 gallon can, you'll use it up. I top coated mine with Kilz 170 Pro-X latex.

I used 7/16" OSB that was stamped good for max 24" OC on the roof and ceiling. No sags. On 45" centers, I'm thinking "sag". You'd really have to run something 24" OC across those trusses to support it. Otherwise, maybe think "stamped metal".

Use 7/16 plywood clips on unsupported seams. Use 2 per seam if you are paranoid.

It will sag some. How are you attaching it to the square tubing ?

If you can find wide, faced rolls or batts, they can be held in place by 1x3s every 2'.
