Assembled in the USA with Global Components written over it. Kind of strange how the Craftsman version is all USA but the Mayhews aren't. Has to be the different handles I guess.

The regular pry bars are made by Wilde, these are Craftsman Professional made by Mayhew

Nope, different barcode. Thought about buying it for a second just to confuse the poor guy working the counter. But since it was just the packaging I didn't think it was interesting enough to keep...just chuckle worthy.

Which probably means they made the tools and package in China, shipped them over in separate containers, then some minimum wage guy in Hoboken put the tools in the packages on an assembly line.
They need to toss this "global components" nonsense and just be honest about it...

ACTUALLY...Mayhew makes the bars at their facility in western Massachusetts and the handles are from Taiwan. A couple months ago Mayhew bought a plastics company to start making the handles in the US as well. Lets not get the facts in the way of your asinine comment.

I don't consider my comment assinine just because in this particular case it doesn't fit what is going on. In a huge number of cases, it's right on the money.

It'd wouldn't be unreasonable to think that Mayhew does the same at all.
Glad you clarified the details concerning Mayhew, now we all know more than we did before, but it still doesn't mean the comment was out of line.

Back in the day when sockets and ratchets were US made, once in awhile you'd find a NAPA or EASCO socket hanging on a peg mixed in with the Craftsman.
