I love you garage journal!

In a world filled with facebook posts, Twitter feeds, snapchat and all the other social media we have, I was still lonely. I had few people to express my love of tools with. I used to get an awesome new tool and felt the strong urge to share with others, but facebook post after facebook post, my awesome, beloved tools went unappreciated, and unrecognized. But then there was GJ. oh how I love you guys, you're always here, and always want to talk about tools. No matter where we are from or what we do, we all can appreciate eachother, for the love of tools and the trades. A place where we all speak the same language, and share our passions. We all mostly have similar stories about the tools and women combination lol. GJ serves as an excellent outlet for me, a virtual hangout spot, and, every time I get on, I learn something new from one or more of the great guys that make up this thing we call gj. Thank you, Garage Journal!

That's sooooo funny, becuse every morning I log on, I click amongst the topics, find new tools to buy or tasks that I need to do and yell, " I HATE you Garage Journal!!!!!!!"
LOLOLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

And yet I still come back, send **** to other members and find all new goodies I need to buy at least weekly.

Tool addicts or happy tool and garage community?
Uhhh-yes.

Yeah, I hear ya man! I too, have trouble getting my friends/family/acquaintances to appreciate tools, projects, and work shops. It's nice to know there are others out there that enjoy the same interests. GJ provides a great place to share.

I completely agree. Back in 2012 when I joined, I had gotten hurt at work and had been out for over a month. I stumbled across GJ somehow....don't really remember how...... and it helped pass the time. Almost 2 years and over 1000 posts later, I still come back almost everyday.

It's like a huge garage where everyone grabs a beer and shoots the ****...........but all are ready to lend a hand when needed.

I forgot how I found out about this site also. But, I'm glad I did. Being of a younger generation, not a lot of my friends know about cars or hand tools. And any time I explain to my gf about them it goes right over her head. I love tools and using my hands to repair and create. However that's not ideal for my generation who buys everything instead of making something. Seriously annoys me because learning that stuff is limited to the generation before you. By not learning it, it slips into history.

well said. some of these guys in the trades are freakin dinosaurs; the **** they know is amazing, but a lot of it will die with them.not so much as the knowledge, as the passion.
