The flyer indicates that the open stock sockets and wrenches are 50% off. Does this include the open stock gearwrench, or only the Craftsman stuff?

Good question.

I'd be prepared for it to be Craftsman-only, but similar sales in the past have discounted GearWrench merchandise, so you might be happily surprised.

Pretty sure thats just craftsman, usually the gearwrench stuff is listed separately.

I don't think the 50% applies to ratcheting wrenches...just 50% off for regular sockets and wrenches, since the ad right next to that states "Save 20% on Craftsman ratcheting wrenches"

When is this sale?
It starts on the 22nd.

At worst it will only apply to non-ratcheting Craftsman wrenchches. At best, it will apply to all open-stock wrenches. So... who's going to do the legwork on Sunday to see which wrench styles are discounted and which are not?

Although Im glad Billymade is happier at his new gig......I miss having an "inside" CM/Sears guy on here giving the lowdown on everything. It was good while it lasted!!

Guess I will be the guinea pig on this one.
Yes they are giving the 50% off on open stock CM sockets & wrenches! I just placed an order on sears.com, I picked up the 42piece set of flex sockets, (all 3/8 & 1/4) for 50% off. It was a pain to enter each part number....but the price was well worth it! I also picked up a few sockets and wrenches I was missing.
Now its time for me to stock up on Plomb, PB Swiss & SO!

Damn. Pretty good. Time to look for some more big ones.

So much for pinless swivel impacts....damn...their individual prices are silly high.

No, open stock is all the loose sockets and wrenches they sell.

What was your total for the 42 pc. set? My guess is that it worked out to around $170 saving you $80 over the regular price of the 42 pc set.

My math:
1/4" Drive: 18 sockets at 3.74 each = 67.32
3/8" Dirve: 24 sockets at 4.24 each = 101.76
Total Cost: 169.08

That set is kind of strange. They give you a full set (inch&metric, 1/4&3/8) of six points and as an addition you get a 12 point set of just the 3/8 drive inch sizes.

This 50% off open stock sale only comes around once a year or so if that often. It's a great time to pick up common sizes in the pro series wrenches and common sized sockets that you need or lost. The sale only covers Craftsman chrome sockets and wrenches in sizes that are found in a Sears store for sale individually. The online and catalog only sizes don't get the discount. As with all Sears sales, there may be a glitch or two but, short of finding the stuff used at a great price or, buying a huge set just for extras, this is a pretty good sale.

I just got back from the local store and the deal definitely works, I got a 1/4 to 3/8 adaptor, 1" 3/8 drive socket, and universals in 1/4 drive 1/4, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16 all for like 24 bucks.

I spent a hundred on swivel sockets and the 11mm craftsman pro wrench that went missing.

Where do you enter your C club number to get the discount? I have some items loaded in my shopping cart and can`t add the # to get discounted total.
Thanks

To answer the original posters question, Gearwrench individual gear wrenches are getting the discount.

I just came back from the local Sears a few minutes away. To complete my raised panel combo metric set I need 23, 25, 26, and 30mm. I checked online before I went to the store and it showed the 23 and 30 were at the store, but not 25 and 26.

Turns out 25 and 26 are not stocked at that store or the other two local stores. No hanging peg for them. That means I have to buy them on the net and pay shipping.

So I bought the 23 and 30 and they were 50% off. The store cannot order the 25 and 26 for delivery to the store to avoid the shipping charge, because they do not stock this size.

I also bought a 1/2" drive short wobble extension that I had been looking at for a while, but did not want to pay the money. Sockets and wrenches are 50% off, not extensions. Adam said sometimes Sears is strange, and treat extensions the same as a sockets. Sure enough when it he rang it up it the extension was 50% off, so I bought it.

Damn, I just bought that 1/2" drive wobble a few weeks ago. Is everyone pretty much getting 1/2 off adaptors and extensions? I stocked up on universal sockets today and also picked up a bunch of gardening tools that were $9 or $10 off. The compound action bypass lopers are AWESOME. You could cut down a freaking oak tree with those things.

Keep in mind, there is a 30 day price garantee; take your receipt back to Sears and they should give you a credit on your purchase! :)

"Price Protection Policy

I just looked up my receipt - the cutoff date was March 18th! I could have gotten the price adjusted on the adaptor and a 14mm univ. socket if I had just bought them a little later. Oh well, only $8.

I was on the Sears website and found that there isn't much rhyme or reason as to what the C-man club discount is applied to as far as extensions go. Some have the discount and some don't. FYI, the 4 piece wobble extension set 3/8" drive is half off of $30. I think the website mistakenly classified this set as a "socket" and so it applied the 50% off!

Thanks guys. I just bought the ten piece extension/universal set and the 4 piece 3/8 wobble extensions for a total price of $29.40. In addition to the Craftsman Club discount and the $5 already off the extension/universal set, I used the SWELCOME07298 coupon code to get another $5 off. This decreases the CC discount by $2.50. Can never have too many extensions and adapters.

I always wanted a set of swivel sockets, but couldn't justify the cost for the amount of use they will get. However, yesterday I got a full set of the swivel sockets 3/8 to 3/4 for less than $30. I'm gonna go later this week and get the metric ones as well. May not be the best swivel sockets out there, but you can't beat the price and the lifetime guarantee.

Just hope I don't see any more stuff I "need".

Titus, thanks for getting me straight on logging on with my Cman #

If your net order after 1/2 off is over $50. I used an old code SDEALS817 for $5 more off.

As others are finding it is discounting 50% on some extensions, picked up 4pc 3/8 wobble for $15

I just picked up a 1/2" dr. 20" extension, 1/4" dr. 14" extension, 1/4" dr. flexible extension, and a 21mm socket for $22

I wanted the 1/4" dr. wobble extensions but those aren't in the store. I bought a set of SK 3/8" dr. wobbles for $65 a year ago, wish I would have waited for this sale!

Btw, I am fairly convinced that SK makes Craftsman wobble extensions. There is a definite difference in the chrome and stamping.

Well, kind of disappointed. I needed the 21, 22 and 23mm polished combo. wrenches as well as the 1 1/8 polished combo. Can't obtain these in either of the two stores I tried (both stop at 1" and 19MM). Should be included in "all open stock" or so you'd think. Tried it on the website, no dice and no discount at all. Really unhappy about that one. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can get this figured out over the phone, but right now I'm pretty peeved.

I mean honestly, if you're going to claim "all open stock" then why would not included all open stock? Isn't that false advertisement? :headscrat

Edit: Before someone asks, yes, I do have my club # included and it was working for other items in my cart, just not the above mentioned wrenches. I was kind of hoping that's all it was, but unfortunately not the case.

The large (over 1" and 21mm and up) polished wrenches are not available at the Sears store here either. These may very well be catolog/online exclusives which for some reason hardly ever get the discounts applied to them. I've called customer service before and they did discount my purchase. It was something similar like all wrench sets 20% off. I could not get the sale price online for the ones I wanted to work so I called and they did the order over the phone.

I ordered 14 of the old style (no etching) sockets on internet at 1/2 off. These are priced 50cents to $1 cheaper per socket than the etched ones. I even got a 1/2 dr 18mm for 48 cents. Just got email confirm that my order shipped complete. We will see what shows up.

It is amazing how cheap you can put together a set buying "open stock" sockets.
I got 18pc 1/4 flex sockets std/mm
19mm gearwrench combo wrench
1/2x6" ext
RHFT flex 1/2 ratchet
all for $121.65 shipped/tax

Finally a good deal for club membership
