Most of Alemite's line has been made overseas for some years now. The heavy-duty series used to still be American made, but these days who knows. The eBay listing never says it is. I bought a Lincoln for half that. Made in India now, but still... half the price.

The ad does state country of manufacture as United States under item specifics. This is also a Make an Offer listing, so it might be worth a shot if you're in the market for a new gun.

Did they finish that casting with someones teeth? It looks awful. I would look for an older used one, they seem to last forever.

I'd be skeptical of anything stated by someone who has 1 feedback.

Edit: The business seems legit at a glance, but I've bought plenty of things that were claimed to be US-made in the past, only to find out they came from halfway across the world.

How can any grease gun be $109.95? It's not like its got a USB interface and LED control panel. Frankly, this is a case where an inexpensive tool will do the job. I've had a few imported guns, and didn't have problems.

You can buy a few Horror Freight grease guns for $100 that work well.

Seriously..... A well made quality grease gun is a must if you are maintaining equipment on a daily basis.

A couple of years ago I needed to add to my Grease gun Collection due to the many different greases that i now use.
I purchased new Lincoln and it ended up being total ****. Leaked, would not prime and low pressure. Made in India.

Not wanting to purchase 4 new guns at $240.00 each i gave one of the Alemite 500-E guns a try. Been happy with them. About $40.00 each on ebay says assembled in USA?

What's the rated delivery pressure? Depending on what you're greasing, the viscosity of the grease, and the pressures you need to get grease where you need it I would GLADLY have paid $110 for the gun that works. On the bridge, to grease 36" rocker pins, we had a 3 stage compressed air driven behemoth that would force grease into the voids - and they used true alemite button fittings as well... fun times, one idiot gave himself a grease hematoma in the palm of his hand "checking" it... I forgot the outlet pressure, but it was huge.

One that hits an honest 10,000psi. If you're just greasing trailer hubs or ball joints, then a $40 import gun will be fine. If you're greasing heavy equipment and need to drive the grease long distances and at high pressure to ensure lube gets where it needs to on a $150,000+ piece of equipment, sending $150 on a grease gun is nothing. The other thing about good grease guns is that they have replacement parts available, and they're designed to be repaired. Good luck getting the head from one HF gun to screw onto a body bought 2 years ago.

This guy ^^ gets it and offers great advice!

I would also suggest a LOCKNLUBE www.locknlube.com coupler for your grease gun too.

I agree on the true 10,000 psi gun but for what i do i dont need it. I have one 10,000 PSI gun that i have owned for years. The only time i use it is to use the pressure to loosen large gears that stuck on a taper mount shaft. (Lufkin and Twin Disk Gear)

I second the locknlube advice above. Until you use one you dont what your missing.

I forgot to note that I am retired now so my guns dont get used every day. So the $40.00 ones are fine for me.

Well said! Nothing I've worked on had those requirements. I can see spending that kind of money if I was working on specialized equipment.
