Not the hottest deal out there, but a rare chance to buy new Made in USA (just ordered and confirmed this) Craftsman thin ratchets + 3" extensions (1/4, 3/8, 1/2)

$79. They are a hot buy, so it is hard to add coupons, but if you have a points back for $75 or $50 in your e-mail that should work.

These are my favorite craftsman ratchets, they are not as fine as the "premium series" but they are quick release and do have a lower profile. They also fit your hand nicely.

By "confirmed" you mean you've already received yours? If you got USA ones, congrats. These have been offshored for couple years now. I haven't seen USA ones in store in a long time.

If they're made in USA, it is because they have been gathering dust in a warehouse somewhere. It has been well over a year since I've seen a US set of those in a store.

They are probably NOS. You can still get USA wrench sets among other things online but not in stores. For how much longer who knows? I will say my latest pickups were all USA wrenches and the item lists were dated a few months ago.

The box was actually dated 9/2014 on mine, so they must have mothballed these somewhere and finally got around to boxing them up a few months ago. I almost wonder if they held some inventory back for warranty purposes or thought they would get government sales requiring US tools.

Thanks OP. Just ordered a set.

I just saw the normal 3 pack in a local store, made in the USA. I came home and was trying to figure out how to get them for cheaper than $99 when I saw your post. I don't need the extensions, but having them doesn't hurt anything.

I bought this set for $78.99 + tax and added a coupon for $20 back in SYW points on August 24th. These arrived as Made in USA. I bought the set of 3 without the extensions for quite a bit cheaper, but they were made in Taiwan. Returned them and spent the extra to get Made in USA. This set basically your last chance to get new USA made at a reasonable price.

Not much of a sale tho

True, the Made in Taiwan ones go on sale for $50 frequently, but it is hard to say how many made in USA sets they have left (last time i screwed around in the cart it gave errors with QTY >5), you have to determine what that is worth to you.

I will say the Taiwan ones are quite nice too, If I had to live with those I would have no issues. In fact I think the quick release button is nicer on the import version.
