I have been looking at custom garage cabinetry now that I have finished my walls. One company, www.maxorganization.com, is actually local to me which means I could pick the cabinets up saving a ton of shipping $.

Has anyone used these cabinets? I'm looking at their "Maxed Out Cabinets" in the yellow aluminum finish.

I can't seem to get a closer look. My one concern would be rigidity.

i gotta say, most of the "garage" cabinets i have seen are junk. most everybody, including yourself could very easily, with a small or large arsenal of tools, build these simple boxes themselves.

just priced out some 3/4 ply's at H.D. last week. oak was 75 birch 57 maple in the 30 range. these are 4x8 sheets. check out quality hardware at lee valley or H.D. and you'll be much further ahead building your own. as well you'll have the real pride in ownership.

as for the aluminum "skin" alum flashing is cheap. finish as desired.

ok, but what do you think about the cabinets??:lol_hitti

I can't see the innards to tell one way or another. Every aluminum cabinet I've seen sans the Moduline are flimsy.

I asked him about the rigidity OF THE CABINETS ( :) ) and was told they are 3/4" thick cabinet-grade plywood faced with aluminum sheet. I told him the web page wasn't clear how strong they are and he said there is a page that shows them holding a bunch of bricks. He is going to show other pics demonstrating strength. I'll see first hand later this week.

Good Afternoon,
Thanks for the posts on our product, Maxed Out cabinets. Great questions, valid concerns. But, we designed these cabinets as guys that will use them as well. We could not find cabinets that met our specs for less than $600-800 each that had high gloss metal finishes - in color. So, we designed and built our own. 3/4" ply carcasses supported by 1" flanged aluminum tubing, these cabinets will stand up to anything that you put into them. The UV lacquered coating on the Maply ply is impervious to anything you can throw at it from your house or garage. We test it with brake fluid.
If you are a customer or a future customer, we stand behind the product. You try it, you'll love it, or we'll take it back. We'll even pay the shipping!
Any questions, please send 'em to me. Our website is new and still up and coming with new photos and facts every day. I just posted a photo a system we shipped to New Jersey for a fellow with a narrow garage and a Jensen Healy- wanted something to accent his car. Look at the bottom left of the homepage. We also did some custom shelving below the cabinets for some additional storage. His garage is so narrow that cabinets would not work.

Have a great day.

Kinda late seeing this thread. Sorry. I hope MaxOrg can post back or PM me.

To what extent can you custom make things? I am looking for some display cabinets for some of my vintage tools. I can not find what I am looking for, ANYWHERE!

To give you an idea:

3 to 4 inches deep with door closed.

No shelving OR fully adjustable.

I need to be able to drill through the back or attach peg board to the inside. No back possible? (I can attach the peg board myself as the back)

No pulls.

The door needs to be glass panel with a 2 inch reveal. (I understand if you don't supply the glass, but can you make them glass ready?)

I would like the whole thing made of metal, BUT if they are as strong as you state, just the door frame in metal would be fine.

How about colours? Can I get a choice? The yellow is nice, but would clash. Plain aluminum might work. Red if it matches standard tool box red.

Size would be 24" high by 42" wide.

So what do ya think? Is this possible from your company? If so, PM me with a price list.

THANKS!
