Just wondered if this small clamped table vise would be any good ?

Or maybe Proxxon ?

I'm looking for something rather small and I can remove easily. What about suction cups bases ?

Hemdale; find a smaller bench vise mount it to a piece of ply with either Tee Nuts in the ply, or counter sunk bolts up from the bottom, and C-clamp that to a table. The ply will protect the table, and the clamp is unlikely to damage the bottom of the table/bench you clamp to visibly.
Also ID'd this one that GETRIDAONE and I have. Someone else has one too, but I can't remember who it is. Millers Falls lists it as a Railroad vise in a 1912 catalog. Like the one above, it appears similar to the earlier Union and Backus vises, so it could also be one of those before they became part of Millers Falls.

Thanks Outlaw, that's what I thought.
I'll wait a bit to find a proper small vise but won't get the clamp thing (almost $140 here for the small Dolex in my post).
Thank you!Hey pozidriv, not sure if anyone got back to you, welcome to the forum.
Prices can very quite a bit from one region to another, €30 ($40?) sounds alright for a nice York vise, that one looks in good shape.
That restore you have on the link, not sure where I got the link but saw this a few months back. Nice restore and good read. Good luck on your vise purchase...the first of many if you stay on this thread.![]()

Anybody ever seen a "Grand" Master Vise?? This one belongs t o a 70 yr. old friend who got it from his grandfather. Not as striking in 2D, but looking at the back of it it's a unique design for sure. Anyone know of the Co. or history etc.??
TIA,
DM&FS

Guy in Essex MD has this one for $50 - I tried to meet him but my schedule is so messed up I can't. Someone save it!
Odd Wilton type, not sure what model, very long and square body, no anvil area.

Bought the York 100 vise I previously linked to. No regrets whatsoever! Smooth action, no rust, heavy, beautiful. Will use it as is for the moment due to several other projects, but will take off the primer paint and restore it fully in the future. Does anyone know if it's possible to date these vises?
Yeah it's great that the company is still in business! The guy I bought it from made these jaws himself.Their style did change over time, but I have no clue as to dates, or even how many style changes.
Those jaws are not the correct ones. You can however still order jaws from the company, http://york.cz/
Here is a late model Reed 105-S recently acquired. Has the replaceable T-Jaws and modern logo. Used but not abused. Lots of little cuts but nothing serious, overall pretty clean. Doesn't look like it's been pounded on. Now I just need to find a 6" & 8"...
Big thanks to 72CZ for picking this up for me!
Hi, this is my czech made York vise, model 150L, jaws size is 150mm (5,9"). Mint condition, just need some cleaning.
Nice Reed 108 72CZ, Jason is a good guy to give that one up. You just made the 8" club.
I have been working on the little guys, I have several small Parkers that are missing the plates and hand clamps that mount them to a bench. The kind you swivel from underneath. I had a day to my self in the shop so I made these two swivel bases and I think they will finish up good. The two vises are a #0 Parker and the other one is a no. 20, both with 2-1/4 jaws. The new jaws are next.
