When is this sale?

.......Saleswoman at the Sears store gave me this phone #( 1-800-682-8691),
for Craftsman club.I wound up having to re register since they couldn't find my info & sign up for fliers. Rep at that number told me the sale was from
3-22 to 3-28. She also said that sale applies to store and catalog sales , not
internet.Just thought I'd pass along what I was told.

Can you elaborate on that ?

It's just way too freakin slow. Takes forever to get where you want to go, to edit your cart, etc. I also have an issue about not knowing what the **** is on sale or not, having to add it to your cart to find out. Sometimes I'll have 4 things in my cart all marked down 50% because of the Club discount, add something else that should be discounted but instead, it wipes out all the rest of the discounts somehow. Totally negates all of it until I delete it from the cart.

I hear you. This happens to me many times.

Horrible website but that might be their purpose to confuse people and constantly changing price so as to maximize profit.

I officially hate the sears website.

It does act strange sometimes.
The 1st time I added my extension it didn't give me a %50 discount so I said no and took it out.
Re-added it again and BAM......discount.

It really does **** in design.

I don't know how many of you know this, but most Gearwrench open stock wrenches are getting a 50% discount for me here, the smaller ones aren't but most are.

website worked for me too....(got 50% of CM club discount). Its a wonder sometimes all the misinformation that sears reps give out. (most of the sears associates I have talked to in the past don't seem to know what is going on when it comes to their sales or prices).:headscrat

*UPDATE 3/25/2009*

Maybe I spoke to soon on this one....my order was split between a store pick up & being shipped to my house. The shipped items have been charged to my CC and have been shipped out. But the store pick up items still show "order processing". I have called sears.com a few times...they said there is nothing they can do and to "give it a few days". I was hoping to get my store pick up items Monday, but the way things are looking I will be lucky if i get them this week?!?!

Just a note of thanks. There are those tools that we will rarely use, that we still want, and those we wish we had seconds of.

I picked up a 1/4" speeder (don't really need, just nice to use some times with 1/4" wobble sockets).

I also picked up all the metric wobble sockets, cheaper then the incomplete set. (one for home, one for the shop)

I originally posted this question because I have put off buying a set of gearwrenches because the metric sets have missing sizes and the cost of the individual wrenches in the missing sizes would be more than the sets are on sale. I figured that at 50% off, it would be a good deal, so today I went to Sears and bought a 11mm, 16mm, and 19mm non-reversable gearwrenches for $23 and change. Now I just have to wait until they put the sets on sale again. They didn't have a 9mm, do they make a 9mm gearwrench? I know its a oddball size.

they do, you have to get it off the website, and it is not marked down for this promo.

Oh, I do as well. I had to order four wrenches over the phone because the discount won't work on the website, naturally they botched that up and charged me too much, had to spend time on the phone getting that fixed as well. I absolutely hate dealing with Sears and this is a prime example of why. Were it not for the 50% discount being at stake, I would never have bothered.

I had trouble getting the complete discount to show on the website as well. I called the sears.com number and was also given the Craftsman Club # (1-800-682-8691). The lady there was helpful after I explained the discount, so I ended up with three deep metric 1/2" drive sockets, a 5.5mm socket, a 15/16 deep impact socket, and an 18" adjustible wrench for a little over $60 w/ shipping and tax. The 18" adjustible wrench alone is normally $69.99.

Also stocked up on some more universals and socket adapters in all three drive sizes as well as extensions in all four drive sizes. All in all I saved $160 bucks. Not bad in my opinion.

I don't think they were supposed to be, but I called and very nicely said that the ad says "all openstock wrenches", so they gave it to me. Make sure and call the craftsman club # and not the regular Sears.com #.

I know their was a few guys that were looking at the flare nut crowfoots that they came out with about 5 months ago and just wanted to say that these are also being sold at 50% off as a set. Had to pick up both the standard and metric set today at that price. Hopefully they turn out to be good.

Actually was just about to post a note about this myself.

I checked the other night just for giggles and sure enough both sets were included in the sale. I found a local Sears that had both in stock and snapped up one of each. I'd feel stupid not buying them at that price, even if I'll probably rarely use most of them. Half off is ridiculously cheap.

While gearwrench open stock wrenches are 50% off, which individual ones are the ones I should get to complete the metric set? I'm waiting to buy the normal 50% off set that goes on sale, but, would like to plan ahead and get the most commonly used ones that DON'T come in that set. What have you found?

Don't know if it's included in the sale yet or not. But I'm wondering why the metric quadbox doesn't come with a 14mm. 10,12,14mm and one other random metric size and I can pretty much take my FJ40 apart. Why would they put in a 8mm instead?

The Sears (B & M and online) pricing is a mess.

I went to a store yesterday and pickup up the 10 piece 3/8 socket accessory kit ($15, regular $35), some mini pliers ($10, regular $20). I had a $5 off $50 coupon so I had to buy more. :bounce:

I always wanted the Gearwrench 56 piece ratcheting drive/t Handle kit and the regular price was $35. After using my Club card, it took off $7 (20% off). With the coupon it is then $23. I know people have gotten this for 50% off but I am OK paying this for $23. It is a wonderful set. Just wished the 10 in flexible extension has a socket adapter (it is 1/4 mail on in side and hex femal on the other side).

I put a !8inch 1/2 dr breaker bar in my cart and it gave me 50% off. A ratchet was a no go. So if something interests you put it in your shopping cart and check for a discount.

If you are like me and ordered a bunch of loose sockets to be shipped to you, check them against the order closely. I just got off the phone with Sears support reporting 3 of the 16 sockets I ordered as missing.
