I have a Rock Island 504A. Works great and looks great. My only problem is I cant find the 4 screws that hold the jaw pads onto the vise. They seem specialized. The are machine screws but the taper under the head has a sharp/acute angle that I cant match up at a Hardware store. Any thoughts on where to acquire these. I know the threads are 1/4-20

Those screws are not available @ retail. Take a standard countersunk screw get it chucked in a drill press and use a file to change the angle. Work slow and you will be fine.

Picked up a 400s a while back and just took it all apart and got it unfroze. Realized it actually has what I believe is a 500 spindle, 1.5-2" longer than what it should be.

Before I go and shorten this spindle, figured I'd try to see if anyone has a 400 spindle to trade???

I need a front collar for a parker 955, 5" jaw. It has one retaining screw and the necked portion of the main screw it fits over is ~1.5" in diameter. Any leads would be appreicated.

I have a tired Rock Island 95 fixed base vise. The main nut is too far gone.

If you have a main nut that might work, let me know.

Otherwise, the rest of the vise parts need to find a good home.

Here is the leadscrew. It is 1" diameter shank and about 16" long in the shaft. It has a bit of wear in the threads:

IMG_0459 (Small).JPG IMG_0460 (Small).JPG

The static jaw has a repaired foot. Seems to be a serviceable repair:

IMG_0461 (Small).JPG IMG_0462 (Small).JPG

The dynamic jaw looks OK, needs some cleanup of course:

IMG_0463 (Small).JPG IMG_0465 (Small).JPG

Let's see if these parts can bring a vise or two back to life. This vise does not owe me anything, I'd like to see the parts used by others, just need to figure out shipping or whatever. Feel free to PM me.

I have a damaged vise that was included in an earlier deal. It is a Morgan 145, 5" jaw width. The static jaw was obviously damaged. Looking closer, it seems that they tried to repair it with a weld, but that eventually gave way too:

IMG_0467 (Small).JPG IMG_0468 (Small).JPG

The dynamic jaw is not too bad, and fits pretty good into the static jaw with not too much play. The swivel base is intact as well. This was once a nice vise, and could be again.

Does anyone have a spare Morgan 145 5" static jaw lying around? Let me know if you do, as I intend to hang on to this vise for a long time until I can find one.

I have a Rock Island 573. Wonder if it should just go to the scrap metal yard or what. See photos.

David, the biggest issue is that broken slide. Everything else is a reasonable fix. at a minimum, if you can't find a replacement slide, of don't want to trust a repair to the slide, the rest is parts that may save another vise or three...

Columbian vise parts.

603 Machinists swivel base vise, this vise was so rusty I think it was in a flood LOL. The main handle and screw are missing. The dyanamic and static jaws are pitted but otherwise OK. The "T" jaw inserts are smooth. The main nut looks good and the swivel base and T-bolt look good, the clamping nut works but has serious rust pitting.

203 1/2 combo vise. The pipe jaws are mising. The main nut is bad and I used the swivel base for my 603 1/2. The castings look good and the "T" jaw inserts have a little life left in them. The main screw looks good and the handle is pretty straight. Note the ACME threads on this are 7/8, not 3/4 like www.viceparts.com shows which probably means this is an earlier one.

Still available.

I'm having a difficult time finding replacement jaws for my craftsman model 51831 5-1/2" vise. Hole center is 3". I read on a forum that the Wilton jaw replacement #14500S41 would work. But it doesn't. The holes on it were 2-1/2" apart. Anybody have any suggestions? I understand that they're unavailable from Sears. Thanks,

Anyone have a 7/8" Parker wrench.
Also need Collar in better condition than mine? My parker collar is rough and you can't read the letters.

Need a pair of jaws for my Craftsman 506.51810. Five incher, swivel base. The jaw inserts need to be .5" max by .75" min by 5" min, up to about 5 1/4". The screws are on 3" centers. The vise is a beater, but the jaw inserts are missing entirely. I could cut a pair out of some I-beam I have on hand, but I'd rather not spend the time if someone has a couple just lying around taking up space.

Please PM me with price - not looking for charity!

Thanks!

I have a Parker 205 with a broken slide support . The rest of the vise is perfect. I would love to find a new static jaw with an intact support.

I am looking for 6" Reed parts, lead screw and handle. Also Parker 107-6 parts. Have 2 interesting American Scale Co vises....first is an 8" in excellent condition weight #287 with swivel base. Second is 6" with swivel jaw in good condition weight #191, are there other such vises out there?

I need a main nut for an older Yost 4" vise. The one I have is cracked. If anybody thinks they may have something that works please get in touch with me and I'll provide some details.

The thread on the spindle screw is ~0.7" diameter and there's roughly 7 threads per inch.

The nut's base is 2.87" long and 1.05" wide. The threaded barrel on the nut is 2.5" long.

Thanks.
