Nice job on the floor. I bought my porcelain to do my garage then got sent overseas for two years so I'm kind of living through yours and others projects dreaming of the day I get back and can install it.

I'd probably be looking at doing the vertical portion in all black or white depending on what you're doing with the walls.

I would stay with the gray. Anything else will detract from your nice pattern on the floor IMO.

I'm on board with the matching grey too. Of course it all depends on what you have leftover. I'd be ok with any of the solid colours, really.

I have a surprise for what I'm doing on the border.
Today the tedious cutting.

Rod, I expected nothing less.

I have to say, your cut tiles along the wall are extremely clean and straight. Please delete all photos of them immediately before anyone else can compare them to mine, that look like I measured and cut them while drunk and on acid. :eyecrazy:

Thanks!

I thought yours look great too OJ.

I find it easier to just add a grout line instead of trying to cut a corner out of a tile. Also you notice I didn't try to rip the tiles against the wall?

Whatever you're doing, keep it up. And think how nice it will be to sit at your bench, look down at the beautifully tiled floor under your feet, and think... I did that. :)

Now, another question... it looks like your workbenches overlap in that last pic. What's going on there?

Workbench on the right and sink on the left. They overlap a little but the sink is accessible.
I've dragged that 10 ft bench with me to 3 house and was happy it wasn't longer for a number of reasons. Lol

I think I'm leaning toward option 1... I like the offset red/black.

Edit: Wait, what about option 4?

I like that one as well, but the wify likes black on the bottom and red on top.

There will a 12" black stripe, 12" white strip and then 12" red stripe on the wall just above where the parts bins are now.

I know a lot of guys would say "That's my space, she can pick for the rest of the house", but doesn't it always make things so much easier to have them on board? And it's a nice bonus that she's interested and will be happy with what you're doing out there. Mine seems impressed so far with what I've done, and that kind of made my day when she said it.

I had to send my wall tiles back because they looked blue under the fluorescence lights.
Until then some floor ****!

I know checker board is classic hotrod, but I'm not usually a huge fan. I think your checkboxes looks awesome because of the grout lines. Plus the fact they appear to be 24" tiles so it's not just a 12x12 checker that looks so busy. Nice work!
