That's good news. It sounds like they are finally taking notice to the fact that people want Made in USA tools by listing that as a feature in the descriptions.

They may start running a dual line, the China regular Cman, or the more expensive USA pro version........which is just old school regular Cman tools... Sounds good to me.... :rocker:

That way we have a choice....

More than likely what they have done is an inventory of what is available in Sears facilities as well as what is in Grainger, Fastenal and other Craftsman sales points and jammed it all in on Sears site. If you look the chinese " professional use" stuff is all listed in the link as well.

I noticed one set that was a RP, but stamped Professional. Is this something new?

Nothing. They are the same tools with an industrial stamped on them. Basically they couldn't call the Industrial tools "Industrial" on the Sears website (for whatever reason). So the labeled them as "Professional Use". There has been many clearance sales and blowouts the past few years of them and the full polish Industrial tools as well.. They then started labeling some of the china full polish tools as "professional use" or "professional". So that just added to the confusion.

But anything with Craftsman Industrial is made in USA.

Ok, i threw the drive set i posted above in the cart and it came up at $28 instead of $35 without points or coupon so i bit. Would only let me pick them up at Kmart in 2-4 days so we will see. If they are chinese i can just return them. If they are USA they are black oxide so i will finally have impact ratchets right? ;)

I bet its more of a warehouse clean out.... pretty much every thing in my store is no longer usa.... 2 loose polished usa pro wenches on the rack. Just got back from there, Place was dead, and it was supposed to be friends and family night with extra discounts on everything starting at 6pm, didn't even get the discount on the loose wrench I bought lol. My store isn't closing and the staff seem to know it, 5 people standing around doing nothing.

Pretty much nothing else branded craftsman save for old sockets and raised panels in loose stock was usa, I picked up the last USA gasket scraper set they had along with a 20pc gear wrench kit I ordered online, walked around and found a loose 9mm usa professional wrench that I didn't have in my set so I bought it.

Isn't the craftsman industrial a "new" line? The professional line has now just become "full polish". Few months ago they had a great price on the U.S. Professional offset box wrenches. I bought both sets online, but when I picked them up in the store they were both the "full polish" made in China sets.. Actually that's all that was even on the shelves.. I didn't even bother arguing cause it was either take them or leave with nothing..

plus, theres something about black tools that turns me off to them... probably because at the end of the day i wipe all my tools down and having black tools just means you won't be able to get them clean. and eventually you'll have nasty wrench rolls and tool bag from the dirt and grease

Summit still does. And dead line or not it's still USA Craftsman tools.

summit does that's true.... try to order the long pattern wrench set and not the old usa raised panel set with an industrial stamp on it or the cross beams, they like most others retailers who carried the line no longer offer it any more. So when the stock is gone, its no longer usa craftsman tools. Its either ebay or piece a set together from sears online.

I like craftsman usa tools, a lot where just rebadged high end tools at a cheaper price with a killer warranty, with a store that honored it with in driving distance. About the only thing left like that in the craftsman line now is some of the pliers...

I have most of the better tools craftsman offered, if that's what you want buy it while you can. The replacements will go the way of koblat and husky with good usa made tools being replaced with cheaper off shore stuff. Kolbat was 10 times better when it launched, now most of it is sinking as they switch more of their stuff to china and crappy quality..... the quality goes down, the price stays the same or goes up, soon if you want a good brand it will be truck or mail order only.

No they still do. Here are a couple of listings for Craftsman Industrial, fully polished long pattern wrench sets for example. (or at least they are still listed on the website, with pricing, can be added to the cart, and then to checkout)

Craftsman Industrial Combination Wrench Sets 924988
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/shc-924988/overview/

Craftsman Industrial Combination Wrench Sets 932325

Sure if you want the assurance of a lifetime warranty get something else. But if you want USA Craftsman tools there are still options out there. So while Sears or Craftsman may not exist in a few more years these tools are available to purchase now.

There are a couple of people posting like they're confused, so:

"Professional" on the website = Craftsman Professional, Chinese-made
"Professional Use" on the website = Craftsman Industrial, US-made

The OP's post is about new US sets that weren't on the website last week. I do a "Professional Use" search on Sears.com every week just in case something like these pops up.

I'm liking the deep offset set, but it won't let me use any of these awesome SYWR tool-specific coupons I have on them. Can't use my $10 in surprise points on them, either. I'm close to pulling the trigger on them, anyway.

yeah what is the difference between a USA regular craftsman Raised Panel and a Craftsman pro raised panel?

Nothing.

This link begs to differ Sir. The pictures say U.S.A., the Title says "Proffesional Use" however the comments section disputes the picture and the pattern you identify...

And not to mention the price for those big *** wrenches... $40 made in U.S.A.? :lol_hitti "get outa he'a"

Correction:

The link that I provided in post #29 is now down to $20

The set includes 13/16, 7/8, 15/16, 1 and 1 1/8 in. Cross Force wrenches...

monomach I wish the generalization that you made was true but 7.3 lbs of "USA-made" forged steel for $20 is unbelievable...

I have a set of the black oxide wrenches that date back to the early 80's. Not a single speck of rust on any of them. That finish is pretty tough.

I fail at life. Not only did I buy the Chinese offset wrenches, I ordered SAE instead of Metric :(. They are shiny though.

Didn't you order a nice SK day haul too? I have a feeling we both may have more tools than we need.

I will say these are my first black oxide wrenches besides one that I don't know where came from in a size I don't use much. I like the look.

I order Sears tools because they practically give them away with the surprise points and bonus points and points for being on the site at the right time and bonus points for certain items and... you get the idea.

I ordered like $1400 of SK stuff. Almost all sockets. Still have to decide what wrenches I really want, and I already have "too many" (like that's such a thing). I didn't have any deep offsets though. I need to save up for an HF 56 badly.

Seriously if you can work the coupons and rewards you can get some stellar deals. If I find something really cheap I'll buy one for myself and a few to sell. That way I can keep my costs to almost zero. Plus I really like buying and selling stuff as a hobby. And it keeps me out of trouble...
