I wanted to post some pictures of my purchase due to lack of information and up to date pictures on this thing we call the world wide web. The pictures that Ruger_556 posted of the heavier duty and larger version were very intriguing. I am very pleased with what I see in the little brother version.
Couple things that I was pleased to see upon opening the crate.

Extruded aluminum drawer pulls

Accuride ball bearing slides

Manufactured at the Georgetown,Ohio plant that also makes the Mac tool boxes and chests.

Same as Mac tools MB4251 and MB4290C-BK (13 darwer version)

Once I load it up with tools I will update this thread. I haven't even put in the drawer liners or the side handle.

http://www.zoro.com/i/G5292892/

Zoro.com recently had a %30 off promo.

That looks like a real nice box. Is the link you provided the box you ordered? The images don't seem to match :dunno:

Side note, now I know where to source old mac/matco drawer pulls.

Thank you. That link is correct. Because zoro.com is owned by Grainger I think they copy and paste info from big brothers database. When shopping around for this box not even one retailer had up to date photos or color. The website shows a blackhawk 13 drawer model, mine is a proto 15 drawer.

If you call proto they can give you the part number for the drawer pulls.

I found that www.cometsupply.com sells the replacement drawer slides 046353 & 045354 for $4.44 each. Drawer pulls may not be much more.

How have they been holding up? Do you have any pictures?

I would say they've held up well. Having said that all of my tools hung on pegboard before I had these tool boxes. So I really have nothing to compare them to.

I have J444142-15RD and J444119-12RD (the red versions) and I really like them. I bought them from zoro during some of the flash sales they have.

I've learned quite a bit from reading the boards and I've also come up with some good ideas. I really liked the way my HF aluminum pliers rack turned out.

Here are some pics.

I couldn't find the drawer pulls on the website. Do you have any part numbers for those?

Very nice mix of quality tools. Is the pliers rack threaded rod and aluminum plate?

So just catching up here and I can't see the pics at work.
So the black colored Proto boxes are no longer Blackhawk brand? Becuse the interweb pictures of the Blackhawk made it look like its doors are a little more cheap than Proto and there are fewer of them than the real Proto.

Also, # 7A039 is a combo for both the bottom and top chests in red and buying the pair saves a couple hundred bucks. Is there a combo to buy the black colored boxes for the price of the 7a039 price?

Or better yet, does anyone know if they make the entire 41" 27 drawer top and bottom set in blue?
I found the top here:
http://www.tools-plus.com/proto-too...J444119-12BL&gclid=CKew2cWU4sYCFRCCaQodQF8Nqg

But cannot find the 15 drawer bottom cabinet in blue. I found it in red (J444142-15RD) and black (J444142-15BK) and I also found a blue 41" roller cabinet with 6 drawers (J444142-6BL) , but I'd like to find the 41" bottom cabinet with 15 drawers in blue. Part number would probably be J444142-15BL
