How much would you guys expect to pay for these?

These are used Snap-On AD12 (12") crescent wrenches. I assume they are an older variant of Snap-On's AD12A crescent wrench which is $80 new. They have some dings in them, but nothing major.

What sounds reasonable for a single wrench?

I'm not asking for suggestions on what to buy. Or what's better. Or what could be had cheaper.

Just one simple question, what seems like a fair price for a used one?

$5?
$10?
$15?
$20?

$8 - $10 each is about what I'd pay if I was looking for some.

There's better adjustables out there for alot less..... New.

I think this has some merit here though, because if I am looking at buying an adjustable I will compare these to the other cheaper ones when making my purchase decision.

Fair pricing for flipping, collecting or using??

For flipping/collecting: $15-$20
For using: $5-$10

I'm just dropping dimes, whether you pick them up or not is up to you.
But if you're asking advice on how much money to throw away on re-branded tools--I would try to keep it under $10.

I'd pay 20 for the nicer ones. That is net, no tax, no shipping. There are always the costs people don't consider. "I bought this for 2 dollars!"

And it cost 8 bucks to ship it. In hand for 10 bucks would be stealing those.

If I really needed one and wanted the Snap-On name, Id pay $20 max.
$15 would be ideal and $10 would be a heck of a deal for me if it worked as new, dings aside.

I find gently used proto and Crescent barands all summer for the $8 to $12 range iin that same condition and size.

Everyone seems to belive that if it is stamped Snap On, it is by default the best tool out there. This is one of many cases where it is not. Lots of = but lower cost options as mentioned above.
Good luck.

I'd be a buyer at $10 a piece, and mabey $3-$4 in shipping if i wanted them.
Warranty mite be a pain later on, but my rep would make a descission then.

Idk why some of the guys have to be dicks, but nature of the beast lol.

Can't really say anyone is being a ****. Just saying what they personally value them at, which is cool. No problem with that.

Giving advice/opinions is not being a ****, if I think someone could save money and buy a better tool, I will tell them. I've gotten loads of great advice on here, it's only right that if given the opportunity that I do the same.

I paid $10 - 12 for my Gedore and Hazets that look way older and worn than those so if they function properly with smooth square jaws, easily $10 and if they look nice too $15. If I had a 6", 8" 10" and wanted a 12" I'd pay a little more too. That said I'm not a fan of that style wrench but I do own and use them occasionally.

adjustable wrenches are not even allowed in my toolbox, if you are using an adjustable wrench, you should be using the correct wrench instead, before you round off and ruin the fastener!

There is a reason they are called knuckle buster. If you offered to give one to me I'd say no thanks. Not going to have a big payday their partner, hope they were free...

they do average bringing around $40 shipped each on ebay used - I would buy the lot for cheap, but only to resell, not to use myself!

Paid 40 for mine. Love the ad6,ad8,ad10 and ad12. Smooth (not ribbed jaws like the new version ad12a) and there are 2 versions of the AD wrenches. Old logo and new logos. New logos sell for more. Sprinkler fitters/pipe fitter love adjustables :)

They are OK, I have 1 or 2, I don't particularly reach for it over another. My favorite is ATD I bought from auto parts. As for the never use an adjustable typs, that's probably true if one sticks to autos but,,, for giggles the oher day I used one for a tie rod change out, was actually as easy and maybe quicker than grabbing half a dozen other tools and I didn't round off a nut. If someone does that its time for lessons.

Try pipe fitting, then tell me an adjustable is "wrong"

done enough pipe fitting to build a steamship - never needed an adjustable wrench

welder - yes, grinder - yes, level and square - yes, tape measure - yes, cutting torch - yes

adjustable wrench - no

it's not 1894 any more!

Evidently you have never fit pipe 30 feet overhead in a factory with several different sized fittings. If they are good quality and you use them properly there is nothing wrong with them for that use. Now using them for regular wrenching is generally out of the question unless it is a quick job and not much torque is required. But life as an industrial maintenance man is a lot different than an auto tech.
