Need Odd Size Threading Die

I am looking for a odd ball sized die. 11/16 inch x 24 threads per inch.

Need to add some threads to a Model A drag link.

The die doesn't have to the best . I have a one time use for it.

I have a feeling that will be a custom made jobby and not a stocked item. A local machine shop maybe able to do the extra threading for a small fee. Otherwise they can be readily manufactured for a more steep price. Our local industrial supplier can have any size tap or die, no matter how obscure, produced in few days. I had a 5/16" British Whitworth tap made and it cost $16.

McMaster Carr is definitely not the cheapest, but they stock everything and they don't have cheap junk like Grainger.

You're right. In retrospect it was well worth it because it was delivered quickly. I could have gotten it for half that from eBay or for a little more a three piece set, but who knows what the delivery time would be.

I've paid $35+ for an M18x1.5 (oxygen sensor) tap. $16 isn't bad at all.

Fastenal would be more like triple. I have a friend whose wife works for grainger, so I drop her name at one of the branches and they give me the employee discount (they don't need to know I'm not really her brother ).. then the prices are a bit more in line with reality. usually about 40% off catalog price.
