excellent -- If it's not too much trouble, please take some more pics to show some details of the modules. There were many variations, and also many overseas variants.

I think all of the automotive museums I've visited have overlooked the tools and equipment used to keep pre and post war cars on the roads. One of the museums should make a shop display similiar to those Snap on garage dioramas they sold a few years ago. I think it would be pretty interesting to see those old set ups.

I doubt I could figure that thing out without some very detailed instructions, but I must say it just looks so old school cool! It is kinda like old Coke machines, except better!

Man, those things wouldn't look out of place in Flash Gordon's rocket ship! :) Awesome find and with the classic look of your brick "shop"; it looks like it belongs there! :)

Awesome tool ,what kind of car is that?

The car is a 1959 Austin Healey 3000 Mk 1 which I have owned for 38 years!!!

In reply to Goodfellow here are some detailed shots of the tester, I hope the rest of you dont get too bored.

The display should sit further back on the roll cab but I had to move it forward as I didnt have too much space in front of the lift.

Do any of you know where I can get a Manual for this machine? I already tried Snap On but so far no luck

OK -- The modules (except for the scope) are exatly the same as those found on the early 1120 models. The scope is different in the early 1120's, but not by much. The only difference are the hookups, but adjustments and procedures are the same.

I may have a manual that covers 95% of you needs. I'll PM you in a few minutes.

246gts,

Belated congrats on the 1020....and the Healey 3000 looks very familiar as I had a friend back in the early 70s who was lucky enough to have one in some constantly changing state of primer. It might have looked rough but it was well tuned and every well polished TR6's worst nightmare.

***

Those gauge dials on the 1020 have excellent color. I'm thinking the previous owner kept the unit out of direct sunlight.

I'm wondering if there's anyone here, and I'm thinking goodfellow may be the one, who has taken apart and recolored Sun gauge dials as part of a restoration? If anyone has, can they share how it was done and what coloring/ink etc was used?

From what breif time I've been looking, faded dials are not uncommon. As much as I like things in original- untouched aside from cleaning- condition, it would be nice to have the option of recoloring faded dials.

Good luck with the 1020.

Thanks.

But seriously, that one must be the saddest looking sun machine for sale, ever?
