Yeah, that makes two of us. I'm hoping it will be finished enough to start moving in by December. I'm broke, and I'm doing things as money comes in. Unfortunately, that isn't happening right now.

yep i understand the money part. I've been working on my garage for 6 years and i'm finally finishing it. Seems i've been spending to much on the toys that go in the garage.

I'm in Dover which is pretty much South East NH.

Almost :) I'm in Greenland, which is a bit more southeast. :)

I have a 25x40 attached garage that I need to post pics of (3 bay, with 2-post in ground lift, radiant floor, 12' ceilings).

When I built the house, I was running SCCA, but have taken the past year off, so not sure what I'm doing next year.

How did you do the two post with the radiant floor? The house I just bought has an attached 32x40x15 with radiant floor. I am worried about drilling into the radiant tubing if I drill to mount the lift...

I had the hole dug before laying the tubing, and then had the cassette (which holds the lift innards) installed. Once all the concrete work was done, the lift innards were installed.

One important thing to remember - do not have the garage door wall headers installed (or even that part of the wall), as the rig/excavator required to drop the lift innards in to the whole is pretty big. The hole is 10' deep (or 12' - can't remember at this point).

The white pipe in the background is where the air and hydraulic lines go from the pump to the lift.

The black 'box' is the cassette (sealed to contain leaks) that holds the lift innards. That was a very nice day when the delivery guy came with that :)

After I posted, I realized yours was in in-floor. I know that would have required advance planning. My garage is complete already. I am planning for two 9000lb four posts, and I would like a bolt down two post as well, but I am worried about the tubing. I was considering cranking up the heat all the way, and checking out the floor with an inrfrared thermometer to try and map the lines...

Nothing new yet. I've been waiting for the wife to come up with some more cash, all my worker bee's have been busy this summer, and I've been on the emotional roller coaster of having a terminally ill dad that's nearing his end. But in the spirit of the show must go on my wife called me at work today and said we should have a check for $5000 by Monday so it's time to get back on track. Hopefully I'll have something in the next couple of weeks.

Things are starting to plug along again. In the spring everyone had time, but I ran out of money. Then my father started his down hill slide from stomach cancer and died. Then I got another loan to finish things up, but now nobody has any time. It was getting frustrating for a while there, but some friends have been coming by the last couple of weekends, and things are starting to move along again.

We got the man door on and got all the strapping up, and last weekend we got about about 75% of the wiring done. Hopefully we can get that finished up this weekend.

The doors came in Wednesday, and the door guy is supposed to hang them tomorrow.

I haven't taken any pictures because there hasn't been much to look at lately, but hopefully after this weekend I'll have something worth seeing.

Not really new construction anymore, but I'm back at it again. Life kind of got in the way for a while, but things are starting to get back on track now. My buddies been working on finishing the framing on the upstairs and he finished the trim on the garage doors today. I'm pretty excited to see progress again. One of the coolest things we have done in a long time was finally implimenting the sliding doors for the upstairs "man room" that I have had in my mind for over a year.

Thanks Guys. The sheetrock is up, and the mudding and taping is done. I'm just waiting for the guy to come back and sand it. I guess he broke his sanding apparatus or something. I took some pictures of the mud & tape, but they didn't come out very well for some reason. Here's the sheetrock install. My friends and I did it ourselves. It was a three day 40+ hour battle.

Beautiful garage, thanks for all the pics. How are you going to access the man room?

For now, I'm going to mount a ladder off the back of the lift up to a platform under the sliding doors. Eventually, I plan to build a 10'x10' deck off the back with stairs.

The mud and tape guy has come and gone, and he did a fantastic job for a reasonable price. He came back and sanded it, so now it's up to me to get it painted. Me and some friends have been picking at it all week, and it's about 85% done. I've just got some touch up to do, finish the Navy blue 2" stripe, and put a fresh coat on the concrete frost wall. It doesn't look that great without the trim and the oulets up yet, but I was so happy with the progress that I had to share.

I decided on the first aid kit instead of the picture because it looks more like it belongs there. It worked out so much better anyway. I installed some cabinet magnets today and it really holds everything in place.

Nice garage and its great to here from guys in NH. We are selling our house in Nashua (goes on the market on Thursday) and we are moving to the Stratham, Exeter - Rockingham county area. Right now I am working on the rally car in a small 20x20 built in 1920 and the car sits at an angle and takes up all the open space. The deal with the wife is that with the new house I will not compromise on the garage so either it comes with big detached garage or barn or we are building one.

We have a house picked out and it would be great to take a look at some of the garages you guys have built and get some ideas since I am just getting started on the design part.

Incidentally we looked at a house in North Hampton on Sunday that had a 3 bay with 14 ft ceilings that was built on top of a lower garage that could hold 4 cars. It was seperated by a concrete slab with metal corrugation for the ceiling in the lower garage. The lower unit only had a single door but that door was in the center of the wall and the current owner had a boat sitting beside another full trailer and there was room for 2 medium size cars as well. The backside of the lower garage opened into a massive cellar. It was a great setup if you didnt need a lift. If I can find some pics I will post them.
