Feit Electric T8 LED Fixtures at Costco

I had demo'ed a few of these last week (from Amazon) and found they appear to put out twice the light as a regular 2xT8 FL fixture, although the official specs are 33% more lumens for 66% more price. Walking through Costco tonight the wife pointed these out, $40 (vs $50 on Amazon) making it a more cost efficient application.

Naturally I bought 10 for my 20x20 build out. I figure 8 along the ceiling and 2 over the work bench for detail.

I was able to pick up one of these a while back and love it. Puts out great light. I wish my local Costo would get them back in stock.

Any idea what the operating temperatures are on these?

I have some (very) cheap HD caged 4ft ballast and I think they are failing or glitching
in my shop? My shop will get very cold, -20 to 100degrees is a common year for me.

Any suggestions?

I've been buying a bunch of various Feit LED bulbs at Costco recently. They seem to be good quality, produce good natural lighting, and are bright.

All around happy with all of them. And the price at Costco is really good.

According to the spec sheet on their website, the minimum starting temp, is - 4 Fahrenheit. If its the same Costco model.

Here is a. pdf link to the spec sheet:

Sorry, phone died while the photo was posting. Thanks metalart! I didn't find them on the website, but if you go to your local club they can look up the closest club to carry them.

These are the newest version: the Amazon one doesn't have the snap-in shield above the light. Playing with these against my 4100K T8 fluorescent last night: I think they appear twice as bright (3700 lumens vs 2200) due to the fact they're throwing light in 180° spread, not 360°.

Just called my Costco and they are in transit. Will have them in by the end of the week. I'm thinking of going this route.

There shouldn't be any cutting off the cord and hardwiring these into a box, right?

I haven't done the garage yet myself. Just been replacing light fixtures in the house. Workshop and garage maybe next month or two. [emoji41]

You can buy just the bulbs for about the same price, you just have to rip out the ballast and direct wire the sockets.

Can these be linked together in a series?

No... They have a power cord with no switch. No way to plug 1 into another.

I called our local Costco every day with the number on the picture posted earlier (858582) asking about incoming shipments and if they had been received yet or not.

The local received 240 pieces yesterday. They were 30 fixtures lighter after I got there and checked out...

A pallet of them in the King of Prussia, PA store as of Friday noon.

I have one of these but instead decided to just buy the bulbs for my existing fixtures. Cheaper to retrofit and the Feit fixture does not have an on/off switch or chain pull if that matters to you.

I would be interested in these. I recently bought the 4' utilitec version at lowes. They are nice and are the same specs except must be hard wired. But they are also 70 bucks each. I may have to take a trip to the Austin tx Costco to investigate.

These lights are on eBay for about $100 each. It does include free shipping, though.
