After waiting for what seems like forever....I'm finally in the process of building a shop at my house. I made a bet with my wife that if I lost 30lbs I could start building a shop. (good to have incentives) Well lost 30lbs in 6 weeks and here we go!:rocker:

I'll post pics as the shop takes shape.

It will be 45x70

Sprayfoam insulation, bathroom and storage loft.

Built the pad last week. Rebar and forms got delivered today. Hope tonnage a slab by the end of next week.

Tore part of my backyard fence out. The shop will have a door to the bathroom on the backyard side. That way the kids will have bathroom access without trashing the house.

Forms and dirt all smoothed out. Just need to dig the footing and lay out the rebar. Hopefully have a slab by this weekend.

Building looks awesome! What are you planning on using it for? Awesome progress and way to set a goal for yourself before building!

It will be used to keep my '55, daily driver pickup, enclosed trailer, son's quad and our Ranger. Also one corner will have a weight set.
And a mezzanine with a work shop area underneath and a wall to display my gas pumps.

I have a strong urge to take up a collection and sent you a tree. That is some flat country you are in. Are the last few pictures inside the finished building? Keep up the good work.

The picture with the grey and white dry wall are from my grandpa's 50x50 metal shop. all the walls are drywalled. Turned out really nice. Not in my budget though:dunno:

Little bit more progress. Insulation is finished and painted white. I'll be covering the bottom 8' with sheetmetal.
I had originally wanted to wait, but I've decided it will be easier to get it done now.

Concrete is getting poured on Monday and hopefully frame out the bathroom too.

How thick was the spray insulation? I have a 40x60 that was built before I purchased the place, and it's not insulated.

they told me about an inch to inch and a half

I sprayfoamed 1 inch on the underside of my metal roof, then took Horrible Freights Infrared Temperature Gun and checked the temperature of the foam and compared it to unfoamed roof next to it The foam part is hotter, Looks like the foam is holding heat, so I want more thickness.

Been a while since an update. Builder hasn't finished the bathroom and lots of other loose ends, but I was able to atleast move in and start finishing out my tin and storage loft.

Shop is coming along nice. BIG!!!! Some nice pumps and like that air hose holder!!! but the caddy is the cat's meow, what are your plans for it.
You sure you're from "earth" per your profile, landscape looks a bit more like Mars. ;- )

Look forward to following along. a fellow "farmer", Lamar

PS My first car was a 57 Chevy back in '66, then a 67 Chevelle. Finally got smart and realized that with a Buick you get twice the car for half the money plus a bow tie in the rear view mirror. :lol_hitti

I actually just flipped the Caddy. Was more of a project than I have the time or $$ right now.
