It looks like GearWrench is making some of the wrenches for the Ace line. Not sure if it's cheaper than some of their other brands. The only thing that I see different is the warranty is covered under Ace instead of GearWrench. First time I've seen this and not sure if this is general knowledge.

Yeah, sorry its old ( really old actually) news. GW has been making the Ace wrenches for years.

I bought some with the Ace name on them like mentioned.... I am ok with that being the local Ace is supported by the purchase.. It is convenient to have one store supply your household needs, painting supplies, tool warranties and what not all in one store...

And that was my first GW purchase, just about two years ago. (Yeah, I live behind the curve.) When Ace has the GW wrenches on sale, it's really a decent deal.

For myself my ace has a lot of new old stock. I litterally didn't see this a couple weeks ago. My ace has a pawn shop and are decent in price. Picked up a set of 548 channel locks for Amazon price ( these where never opened).

As for Gallup yes it ***** but on the flip side has a lot of oppertunity to venture in the lines of franchise's and etc.

I'm from Zuni, living in Albuquerque now, but I cannot for the life of me remember where an ACE in Gallup is, lol would you mind enlightening me on where it is? I may stop in there on my way home one of these days.

I do a lot of plumbing on antique fixtures in historic homes, and we have this old Ace hardware store here, and this guy working there has been hoarding shower stems since the 1950's, and he is mean and you had better be nice to him and kiss his ***, because when you need a shower stem to fix a leaking stem in a bath or shower from an old house, and the stem or its parts are no longer made, you have no choice but to go and see the Stem Nazi and grovel and beg (think Seinfeld Soup Nazi)
