Depends on the condition I say. If it's in good condition and it comes with the SS top and cover, it's a decent deal. Otherwise I'd like to say that you can find it cheaper if you keep looking.

Depend on you. Do you need a box right now. That is close to the truck prices. I would see if the seller goes down to $3500.

OTOH it does come with a top and cover.

Ya I think it's somewhere in the 8k range new. But that's with no sales or promotions going on which to be honest is pretty rare and if you did buy it at msrp then SO would be laughing their bums all the way to the bank.

With promo or sales on average what can i get that box for more like $5000?

I bought a 1022 several years ago brand new off the truck for less than 5k after taxes(I'm in Canada). Don't remember the exact numbers, but it was high 4k after it was all said and done. That was after trade in value of my old and beat hardware store toolbox that was worth no more than a benjamin. On top of that he threw in a toolbox cover in the deal.

.86 so $3440

Seems a bit on the high side for my area, but it really does depend on the area, also if the owner is a crack addict you may be able to buy it with all the tools for $500.

I'd say its not to bad, I got mine many years ago with cover and top for $4500 but that was with a $2000 trade in on a box not even close to that.

As a recent example I bought a 1023 triple with stainless top for $4500 in the last 6 months. $500 of that was taken as a trade, so only $4000 cash.

They are certainly a nice box, the depth makes a huge difference. I found myself only opening them part way for the first week or so. I keep saying I know I put that in this drawer, then I would open the drawer the last 8" and find it.

Used private sale. The tops are like $1200 new and the box is like $11k I know that if you buy new at the right time you could probably pay $8500 for what I bought. I felt like it was a good deal and as I said, I love the box.

With stainless top, cover, and the extra logos on a couple of the drawers fronts, I'd say it's a fair deal. I got more than that for mine when I traded it in.

Factor in the location / shipping cost and decide from there -- sure you might find the same box for 500 bucks cheaper, but if it takes a day to drive there and lots of extra gas to go somewhere father away to get that cheaper box, how much are you really saving?

That box would have to be extremely pristine to be worth $4K. I mean perfect paint with not a spec of dust on it anywhere. Even the drawer liners would have to be spotless for that price.

I personally have a KRL 1022. I bought it new off the truck 10 years ago. It's a nice box and I like it. At that time the list on it was around $6K. I think I paid about $3K with a trade in. Now the same box is over $8K without top and cover.

I have been looking for a new box for a co-worker. I check the used boxes on CL daily. I would call this box a fair price for $4000. It's not a steal but it it's within reason at least around here (MN).f I really wanted a 1022 I would be pretty tempted.

This is posted on a FaceBook page, the poster is in Illinois. I know if I hadn't just bought a box recently I'd probably be trying to get this one or finding one locally. These boxes are nice looking. Same guy has a Snap-On 3 drawer Utility cart listed for $750.
