I looked at Wink, but built out with Insteon instead. The only thing I've really done is used the I/O module to connect a driveway monitor. Now when someone comes down the driveway, the house lights come on outside, I get a notification on my phone and iPad, and if I click the link I'll go right to the camera.

It's 50/50 security and convenience. Really hard to tell when someones there looking for me if I'm in one of the 4 floors of the barn, out in the field somewhere, etc.

Once I can find a compatible doorbell (wireless, with a relay output on the receiver) I'll attach that as well. Then when I'm not home I can see when the doorbell rings and who it was :)

My usage is pretty normal, maybe even less than. Hub controls my kwikset910 front door lock. Have a spotter in my bedroom to monitor temperature, and i plan on getting a wink compatible thermostat soonish. "Norm" looks nifty and cost effective.

Wink app is far more responsive than the chamberlain MyQ app so I do like it for the garage door.

I just purchased 2 of the Leviton switches from Home Depot the other day. First I set up my Christmas Lights which were already on an in wall GE timer that was a pain to program. Next I am going to use one to turn on my natural gas heater in the garage when I am at work so it will be nice and toasty when I get home.

I purchased the Hub and a couple of spotters when they were first introduced in late October. I also love the way WinkApp handles my Chamberlain MyQ.

As money allows I will replace the most used light switches in the house.

So far I have two bulbs (GE Link) in ceiling can lights that are controlled by a Wink hub.
I plan to replace all 12 bulbs in the basement with Link bulbs, so that I can control them on two zones.

^^^^ what do you recommend?

I read about a very nice system that links various technologies... It was bought by google nest and they simply shut it down.

Edit: Revolv is the hub I was referring to... $300 for a hub that is now kaput is a business faux-pas...

I am really afraid to invest in a system that can be shutdown in a day because the startup has been bought.

This is the reason I went with a big box store version. I paid $.99 for the hub. If they get swallowed up I am out a buck and I still have all sensors switches etc. Since most of the stuff works on Z-wave might lose a few features but will work with other hubs.

I have really been waiting on this:

I think this has the potential to be a game changer for my home HVAC system to cut back on utility bills and make the home more comfortable.

I have been using the Lutron Caseta system for a few months now and it has worked very well. Currently using it to control outside lights and holiday lights. I have read it can link with Harmony remotes with will be my next step.

I am using the Ubiquiti mFi pieces in my house. It can be a little more complicated than other systems but I feel like you can do more.

I had this ideal years go. The problem I was told is I would still need to keep the air flow through the coils to prevent freeze up. Also that the system would have to constantly run if all rooms didn't react the same when air was applied. If one heated up quicker than the others then a 6 ton unit would be on just for that single room. Now that room is cool but now the living room heated up.

I have spoke with a couple of HVAC companies regarding my problem. When my home was built it seems that the company that designed the ductwork system did a horrible job even by standards 15 years ago. It Needs to be balanced differently for A/C than Heat. This product could certainly help with my situation without out the need for tearing out the finished basement ceiling to install new ductwork.:dunno:

Now I do need a new more efficient A/C system. That is a given. It still will not help with my distribution though.

My electric bills are out of sight compared to my gas bills and that includes heating my garage with gas.

I will wait til I put in a new compressor, condensor and evaporator to have the ductwork balanced.
