Hey Fellas
I need a little help. I'm looking for a old Vlchek small ball peen hammer that came in a GM tool kit in the 1950's. It was a little over 11 in. long and weighed about 10 oz.. Most of them had a small "V" stamped on the top of the head. I sure would apprecieate if you would look around to see if you might have it. Mabey some day I can help one of you guys out.
Thanks

One of my personal peeves is that in a thread like this, no picture is provided. OP can you find a picture of what you want some where on the net and post it here? It would give us non-tool collectors something to go on. I'm not real inclined to search out what your looking for to check if it may be one that I have in my hammer drawer.

This goes double for the guys that post up a tool part number. Post up the best description you have and pictures if you can find them. If your trying to fill a set, post pictures of the size above and below what you need.

The easier you make it for me (the GJ member), the better the odds you will get what you want.

Hey Lary I'm sorry if I made youy mad. I thought my discreption of the small Vlchek ball peen hammer was close enough. Most ball peen hammers look about the same. Like I said the one I'm looking for, to complete the tool kit for my old car is a Vlchek. It is a little over 11 in. long and the head is about 3 1/2 in. long. It weighs about 10 oz. It has the letter "V" stamped on top of the head. I'll try to find a picture of one on the internet if you think it is nesessary?

Thanks guys

I'm not mad, I'm just trying to help you out. Do the most you can so us lazy sob's don't have to or in most case won't do any research. I have a lot of tools in buckets and boxes in the shop, all users. I don't keep in mind brands and part numbers but I do know what they look like.

Everyone relax.

If it helps, ball pein is also spelled with an when you do a search.

There are two prevalent styles:

You know what? You guys win. I'm just going to say "UNCLE". I was just looking for a little ball "peen" hammer with the letter "V" stamped on the top.
Sorry if I caused any one a problem. I'm going out to the garage and have a beer. Take it easy fellas.

Well, I hope you didn't take me wrong. Those hammers I showed are Vlchek. It may have come from this GM set of tools:

FWIW, that pic did not show up searching "peen." I thought I was helping. Hope you enjoyed the beer.

what kind of vehicle is this for, that may help (but it could raise the value of the tool)

Such as the Irwin screwdriver that came with 1967 corvette bolt on wheels.

Oh, I thought the title said "old fool", and I figured "hey, now there is a thread I can contribute to . . ."

Oh well.

I do own a vlcheck ball pein hammer though. I can check it tomorrow and get a pic for you.

Update: I checked the one I thought was a vlcheck, and it turned out to be a P&C.

sorry, can't help.
