I have a friend who has one, he loves it. From what I've seen it works great. Good deal I'd pick it up.

If you used it one time it would be worth the $5.

Gotta make sure you have use for the 50 bucks in merchandise you have to buy before your 5 dollar purchase kicks in. However, at the price that the consumables cost for these things, that's a good place to spend the 50. One of the most useful and common blades is over 9 bucks ea and they wear out in minutes. Some of the other brands of blades are slightly better. The last HF semi-circular blade I bought broke the rivets to the hub right away. They're pretty much junk.

My son-in-law bought one several years ago, and it is still working. Not as nice as my Porter-Cable, but a lot cheaper.

We have had a few long threads about these over the years and the general consensus is this is one of the better tools that HF has. I have had mine for 3+ years and used it a bunch and it is still going strong. Still I wouldn't spend $50 just to get this for $5 when they routinely put it on sale for like $14.99.

I've got one. It's made half a dozen cuts with no problem. I would hate to use it all day, though, the vibration is hard on the hands. And yes, I got it on sale or coupon, the only way to buy HF.

I was there today. The cutting tools run up to 15 bucks. If you will buy lots of cutting tools from me I'll give you the Multi-function Power Tool. Hilti has had this philosophy for years. That's all HF is doing.

Took the "plunge" and bought my first corded tool from HF !!!! ;)

Spent the $50 required of coupon. . . I actually spent $64 after 25% off coupon for framing pneumatic nailer . . and got the corded oscillating tool for $5. For less than $70 was out-the-door with both tools and another free tarp. Oscillating tool will get used on friends bathroom tile floor that is trashed and needs removed/redone.

Ran into guy in parking lot who had positive things to say for oscillating tool. He even bought extra 25% coupon & $5 tool coupon that I gave him (he wanted a 2nd oscillating tool for $5) !!! :D Think I got around $2 which was his loose change in pocket. ;)

I've used this tool with success in the past. The only trouble was keeping the blade screws tight as it would get loose with use.

I don't like that you have to spend $50 to get it though.

The problem with the harbor freight plasticky tools is that they're LOUD! They're not complete **** though. I recommend you pick up a pair of decibel reducing ear muffs while you're there if you buy this kind of stuff (or just ear plugs). Their ear muffs aren't bad actually; no frills though.
