Looking for a vise

DC: i'd pay $35 for a brand new Wilton and as you might have seen in the vise thread i really don't NEED another vise. i can't tell which model it is, but even the less expensive Wiltons are about $150.
of course make sure it's not a cheap knock off. it was probably made in China even if it is a real Wilton, but if it's legit and not a toy get off your computer and go buy it and then post up some pictures.

I've emailed the guy, he is close to me so when he replies I'll check it out. I figure for $35 how can I go wrong.

DC: unless he posted a generic picture and is waiting with a gun in his hand i'd say $35 is an awesome price for one and if he has a few more bring some more cash. those would make a great first time vise for almost anybody for a gift or to resell.
of course I'd ask if the picture is of the actual vise before i head his direction.

I bought it, it's a 4" vise. Don't think it's the score of the year but online they $50-$60. So I saved a little. It will do me anyway. I'll get it mounted and put a couple of pictures up.

DC: very nice. it must be smaller than it looked in the picture on the ad. it definitely is new and for that price if you don't use it as an anvil or a press it should last you for years.
yes it has a anvil looking area, but don't beat on it there and pick up a piece of RR track to beat on and a little bench top shop press that come up on Craigs every now and then.

Yea it's smaller than pictures show but it will work for general use.

Also, don't forget to obtain some vise jaw protectors to keep your new tool from leaving lasting impressions where you don't want them.
