Nine, Just strip a half inch of wire and jam the leads in the socket. I it'll give you a chance to try it out. Once.

:scared:

I did that once in an "emergency". I needed to test an old motor and couldn't find a plug for the cord. It's not recommended but I didn't die. :D

Any idea of shipping weight?

Just under 20lbs. I'm going to be updating the original post with the list here now. As it's was new year's eve and now new year's day, there hasn't been any progress. Hoping to continue the ball rolling a lot tomorrow, and into next week.

Cheers to the new year everyone!

Count me in as a 95% positive. I'd still like to see the final numbers with shipping, etc before committing 100%.

A guy I did a load of building work for ran his stick welder like that after he melted the plug on it, unfused 240v when it should have been 13 amp, worst part was the building was bodged straight on to the main 100 amp supply, no fuses or breakers at all, it was frickin lethal. On that job the electricians managed to dead short the 440v three phase supply in another building, which was interesting.

We're closing in on sixty, should be a very doable project.

G

The more the better! Right now we are looking at about 5 pallets of the units. The more pallets the better I can negotiate. Tomorrow I'll really be moving along more with this. Right now getting as many people on the list as possible is good. Obviously I want to keep the price where we are at, and if it becomes unlikely we can get them shipped at ~200 each to everyone, I don't think I'll continue forward with it. Just trying to get a good deal on these!

I'm not going to be part of this but wanted to thank you for taking charge. This is what makes gj an awesome place. It would be great if there were more great deals to be had so we could spend more money. :)

They should be able to get more than 10 per pallet, unless they single stack them, the box they come in is only 10.25" x 14" x 18" and weighs about 20lbs.

They told me they fit 16 per pallet. I was a little off on my math above.

Updated first post. Let's try and get to 100 before Monday! Freight broker wants a solid number on how many units we plan to order for negotiating prices, so if you are interested speak up with a solid "i'm in".

At this rate I'd be surprised if 100 wasn't broken long before Monday

What would happen if one received a unit that was DOA? Would it be a complete pita to get it exchanged? I'd be interested for sure, but would like to get a few things straight before I jump in..thanks![emoji106]
