The harbor freight set is not only cheaper, but has a 14. Not sure why everyone keeps wanting to pay more for Tekton?

Now it is $14. I just bought a set of tekton 3/8 metric sockets from Amazon 2 days ago that is in the red case. They have I think 7mm-19mm. I paid I think $19. They are also laser etched. Would rather have that set than what is posted.

Edit: Sorry I was misinformed. The deep was $29.

The shallow was $20.

I still think the ones I linked are better than what was originally posted and it is complete for 3/8 size.

I almost bought a set of the of the Tekton's, but really don't need them right now. For the HF set you are talking about I think it's the one I have that doesn't include a 15mm or 18mm. Those are some of the most used sizes for me.

Amazon is weird like that,...I check my wish list often and one morning the GearWrench S wrenches dropped $100...bought a set immediately, went to go post a thread on here to let everyone know and I guess it was only good for that one set cause the price went right back immediately.

^ ^ Seems like Amazon has some "On Purpose" low price goof ups that hit SlickDeals, etc. and drives up frenzy to site. Maybe they are hoping that people will blindly order even at higher price. Some they may treat as "loss leaders" just to get you to order something.

They're playing us like a violin sometimes ?? :dunno:

All part of "Social Experiment" or that's what Facebook calls it ! ;)

Some folks don't have access to Harbor Freight (OP's location is Kandahar and us Canadians don't have it either) so it's good to see info on non-HF stuff. Tekton is usually ~30% cheaper than our local HF equivalent (Princess Auto) so it's a valid option for import stuff out here.

Actually it is an algorithm. Amazaon lowers the price based upon how many buys there has been, how many have it saved in wish lists and how many views. Amazon cooperates with camelcamelcamel and will lower the price if the other conditions are met and you asked for a lower price. Included in that logic is the type of customer you are. If you Camelize it and usually buy then the more likely Amazon will lower it.

It may have made a difference that I camelized this a while back.
