Does this knife exist?

So about a year ago I quit buying expensive razor blades and got an old fashioned safety razor. 10-20 cents per blade vs several dollars for the old ones! I LOVE this razor!

But every time I throw out a used blade, I feel like I'm throwing money away. I mean, even though they aren't sharp enough to shave with anymore, they are still wicked sharp and would be awesome for opening boxes and stuff like that.

So have anyone ever seen a knife that uses disposable double sided razor blades?

I have never seen one, but they do make things for trimming beards, mustaches, and side burns that uses them.
They may still be sharp enough for that

Didn't do the $1 shave club. Their ads bug me. Mine is the one the Pawn Stars guy has his picture on. :)

I dunno if you are talking about a website or a physical thing but Adblock is your friend.

I don't know about a knife but you might want to check out one of these old Acorn Scrapers.

I didn't realize the pawn stars guy had his head on a DE razor. Looks pretty crummy for what you get, a cheap Chinese (Weishi if some quick googling is accurate) razor with a knockoff Gillette design and some cheap blades. At the very least I'd upgrade those to some nice Personna medical prep blades, though 24 of those probably won't last the year promised in the advertisement.

As for the knife, I've never heard of one and I'm not sure it would be a good idea. The blades are pretty thin and flexible and I could see them snapping pretty easily if put up against something tougher than hair. I would guess they'd dull so fast you'd be changing them constantly anyway.

a knife - no never seen or heard of one. I belong to several shaving forums - those contain guys just as into shaving and all components of it as GJ has tool nuts.
There have been wood planes (miniature for modeling, or fine fit trim work) made that use them and scrapers. I have each and while they work, they don't work well as the blades of today are super thin and have little edge strength whereas the blades of the old days are as pictured above, they are at least 3x as thick.

the coffee mug trick only works with unglazed mugs, and doesn't work well on todays thin coated blades either. Don't spend the cash on ebay on a blade sharpening stone for DE blades - same thing. Nice collectors item (yup, got one of them too), but not functional in todays tech. Buy blades in bulk - 100 packs not from the corner box store by 5 packs and toss them in good conscience. The cost per piece is near zero after figuring the cost per shave and comparing to the cost per shave of 2, 3, 4, and 5 blade disposables.
Now, once you start experimenting with all the different brushes, soaps/creams, blades, and like you'll see how cheap collecting tools can be.

I've seen them.

They were made by inmates. They used tooth brushes for handles and wrapped the handle to make it thicker.

Glad the guards found them first.

There are straight razors that use disposable blades. Some are mae to take half a double edged blade. I don't know how well they would work for opening boxes. There usually refered to as a "Shavette". I'm not sure whether that is a trademark of Dovo or not.

in one word : terrible!
The way a shaving blade is designed is not suitable for box cutting. A normal straight razor would work well, but again not all blades are equal. Many are hollow ground and thin which shatter easily in unintended circumstances.
