Picked up some parts for work this morning, and picked up a couple extras.

Are those the craftsman pinch pliers? I need to get me that size in those. The blue point ones are the exact same thing but double the price

SK 4147-6 socket set, a late xmas gift from the girl... I was expecting a standard length ratchet but was somewhat pleasantly surprised to see a 41070 long ratchet instead. Now I already have a S-52 and a S-53 and I figured I was well set unless I drank the Dual 80 kool-aid... but hot damn that old school SK is smooth like butter. I wanted to make sure I was not imagining things so I ran over to the girl's toolbox and grabbed a B-52 that I'd lubed with Redline Heavy Shockproof before I gave it to her... nope, the SK has WAY less backdrag. I still like the fine tooth ratchets for their utility but good lord that SK just feels nice. Love the knurling on the extensions too.

It's a good day all around; I'm sitting around waiting for an offer letter that I've been promised and the girl had literally just got off of a great phone interview before the FedEx guy showed up.

And a Williams #2 Phillips screwdriver for the girl... because I was looking for one to fix some stuff at her place and couldn't find one. Figured better to get a good screwdriver to replace the missing one (that is the most often used) rather than spend more money on a "meh" set at Sears or Lowe's. Tip looks fine (despite some reports I've seen of the #2s being shaped a little off) and this just reaffirmed my love for the old Snap-On hard handle styles. If I used separate screwdrivers more often (usually I'm traveling light so use a ratcheting bit holder) I'd be sorely tempted to get the whole set for myself and retire my 20 year old Craftsman ones.

Very impressed with this ratchet and I just got it today. The finish is excellent. I was just gonna buy the Matco version with a soft grip handle but the Matco guy hasn't been here in like 4 weeks. Oh well, saved about $75.

I was very curious about this style of wrench. I have some cheap Cman open end ratcheting but the damn kit didn't bother to include a 12mm. I figure, if it works well, great. If it doesn't, then at least I didn't buy the whole set.

Well there's some more Husky heading into south Jersey.

I just ordered these for $22.99 on ebay.
I've been wanting some off set double box ends, but I didn't want to spend much... And the ones from harborfreight look like complete ****.

It was between these and Duralast, and these come with a roll which I really wanted. (takes up less space in a tool cart)
I'm not sure if they're China or Taiwan, but I've had great luck with Husky so far. Even the newest stuff from China.

Now just to find a set of non offset metric box ends...

Plumbing. I have 2 16" Cobra's which are my go to for pretty much everything I work on, So I figured 2 16" Pliers Wrench were a good choice. I rarely reach for the shorter ones. I like having the extra leverage. :dunno:

The pinch pliers are KD / Napa . I paid 50 for the pair in store. I tried to find them on the SnapOn sight but I couldn't. I know they have them because I was doing some work on my snapon guys personal truck and I used his.

Also, this came in today. I saw a post on Reddit about JIS screwdrivers and how well they for in to Japanese "Philips" screws. You can stick it inside the screw and leave it there the tolerances are so tight

Let me know your thoughts on that style of wrench. I have been eyeballing them as well, but dont want to make the jump with out a bit more knowledge as to how good and useful they really are. Referring to the funky open end not the box ratchet end.

That speed wrench design is only useful in a location where you'd be forced to use an open end. You gain nothing in engagement arc over a basic combo. They go for cheap on ebay (minus the Snap-On brand and ratcheting box end of course), buy a couple sizes and see if you use them.

This old set was given to me earlier today. It's my first 3/4 drive ratchet set. Now I just need to find some 2" bolts to tighten.
