It took a while, but here it is. First version (there's a completely different one coming soon) took a bit to get the tolerances correct but I love how it turned out. Notice me holding it upside down-----didn't spill a drop!

Lol Moose............within a couple weeks I'll get all sizes designed. For the 1/2" drive set, they are 21.5 x 5 x 1/2". FYI though, if you want other than brand new SK sockets, you'll either need to Mic them and send me the specs, or point me to the spec sheet online. I'll take care of the new SK 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 inch drive, plus the SK 1/2" drive impact sockets. If you want Metric, you'll definitely have to Mic them, I don't use any metric if at all avoidable (old cars).

Very nice work. You show it upside down, what's holding the sockets in? If it is friction, seems it would be a pain in actual use?

Is that PVC? Looks great. Man, if you had molds made and did those in rigid foam you could sell 10's of 1000's at a price that would be in line with all the **** out there. The square posts wouldn't last but I'm not sure they are needed.

Thanks Dang it I didn't know there was going to be homework.....LOL mine are the Proto Pro so I have all of the /32 sockets as well, guess I will have to drag out the Mic and my Metric is mostly Craftsman USA in my 1/2 dirve. and most of my 3/4 are craftsman also, but thanks, I will get some number's together and shoot you a PM

Yes, it is friction. I'd estimate a little less effort than removing/replacing a socket on a brand new rail. I'm guessing though that, given it's HDPE, it'll loosed up a little over time.

It's High Density Polyethelene (HDPE). The guy in my neighbor shop makes molds all the time.........what's "rigid foam?" I make lots of these out of Kaisen Foam.

Wouldn't a digital caliper be precision enough for this? A mic seems awful time consuming.

When I said "Mic," digital caliper is what I actually meant.......that's what I used.

SWEEEEET!!!! You have some real talent!

I'll go tell my machine you said so............I only wish I had the talent to do that by hand

Beautiful.

+1 on digital caliper being sufficient?

Again, absolutely. After a couple iterations, I actually went to the nearest 5/1000s on socket diameter. Going to 100s, believe it or not, made them either loose or too tight (needed hammer).

Wow, that is nice. Great job especially on the spacing to maximize the storage volume yet still have labels.

That was key for me. I absolutely wanted labels, but, since I friggin buy new tools every time somebody posts a glowing review (oh look, the Williams ratcheting wrenches have Dual 80 tech........ordered them that day) on this damn site, I need the room!
