Not bad. I bought them for my dad when he was re plumbing his motor home air lines last year. They got pretty beat up but the jaws never opened and the contact points were all solid. We were wondering how they would do. He wanted my sk's and I thought they would get beat up so I got him the husks to try. Pretty good results.

They do have a lifetime warranty and the guys that work at HD tell me that if you ever need a replacement on their Husky tools they will replace them on the spot. Also, if you have an issue with the tools within 90 days you can get a refund (with the receipt). Not much risk, I think.

I have a set and the fit is very good, mostly used them on air compressor fittings and lines, and have over torqued a few, but they haven't slipped or anything.

I would actually like to get some of the flex head ones too, but they've dried up in my area.

So far I've been super happy with them.

Bumpity bump bump....

Any more input on these wrenches?
I've been wanted to pick up the SK set, but Husky is less than half the price, and I've had good luck with their tools so far...

wonder who makes them. I notice a few people saying a lot of the HD line is gearwrench -(apex) with a husky private label but have not really confirmed it. Seems a lot of the gearwrench brand can be bought cheaper under private label names.

I know most of the ratcheting wrenches, and the ratchets are Apex.

The combo wrenches aren't though. They're not bad at all, but they definitely don't look likw apex/gearwrench.

Doesn't Stanley make most of the other Husky stuff?

I picked up this set when they were $9 a couple months ago. They seem OK. Haven't had much of a chance to use them though.

The plain combos are similar to the gear wrench ones but kirbot pointed out htye are not, I noticed they have the exact same font and placement of text and numbers when comparing the husky ones to gear wrench ones.

I finally picked up the set the other day. They took a harborfreight 20% coupon, so it was only $16.

I'm not going to claim they're replacements for snapon, but for being cheaper than harborfreight, they're certainly 10x nicer.
My money is on them being made by Gearwrench/Apex, but for well under half the price.

you know, I was in the market for flare nut wrenches last year and got a set of SK metric and a set of old USA made craftsman SAE. I thought I'd only use the SAE stuff around the house for water fittings, air fittings and the like. I actually used them on my FIL's old truck recently and they did great, but it wasn't a high-torque fastener it was only a trans cooler line going into a plastic radiator. I purchased the SK for vehicle work since they are decent quality. I sure wouldn't trust HFT ones not to spread under load and round something off. Husky MAY be ok, but I'd sure want to test them before I put them on anything important. They are probably as good or better than the current craftsman.

I'd say ask yourself how often you'll be using them and make a call. If you're a mechanic and make money with your tools then go Snap-On. They are the best, and have proven to hold strong where others spread. If you're a DIY guy working on your own stuff then the husky ones will probably be just fine. If you want some extra reassurance go SK or Wright. If this is a "just in case" purchase, get the husky, and if you ever run into something they can't handle then buy a single SK, wright, or SO to handle that one job.

Have I not been paying attention and Home Depot is now price matching?

Home Depot "accepts competitor coupons". At some stores, with some managers/cashiers/etc., and depending on the pH balance of your skin... this includes HF coupons.

In other words, YMMV.

They're really not that much cheaper than GW, depending on how you look at it. They're much more money if you have to add the missing wrenches individually.

I bought the GW sets, haven't used them yet. Wasn't impressed with the Made in USA RP Craftsmans I have. GWs are on sale right now $34.42 for the 6-piece SAE set at NTX, plus you get the metric 6-piece set.

This, its kind of a pain in the *** trying to find a store that will accept them...

You're right there. I just saw this 6 piece set...
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NI93SE/?tag=atomicindus08-20

But I didn't even look close enough to see that they're all metric.
6 sizes (3 wrenches) metric and 3 SAE will probably cover most anything I run across so I didn't look into filling in bigger sizes.

And I was a little surprised about the coupon too.
I just thought I would give it a shot, and sure enough... 20% off. She even took it off the whole order, not just one item.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. That was the first time I tried it, and it's the closest store.
