FRM: any pictures to post of your project Bronco? it's been a while since I've been down in your part of the world, but i still remember hitting golf balls into the Rose Bowl 40 years ago.

Thanks for the welcome everybody.

I used to live in Pasadena myself, right off the 210 exit on Hill
It's a small world. I drive thru that intersection on a regular basis.

I don't have any current pics of it, but here are some along the way:

When I first bought it. Like I said, it's pretty rough. It was "Rode hard & put away wet".

Custom filter element to fit under the custom hood. :D

And the most recent pic. Hood, grill, fenders, doors, windshield frame, seats, front clip squared up, & amateur body work begun. It has lights installed today & different front & rear bumpers, but most of the recent work has been engine & trans related, so the exterior hasn't changed much since. Everything I touch on it takes me deeper & deeper. The grade 5 flywheel to crank bolts were the last straw. :scared: I'm checking every piece now.

No golf shots, but I have a pic of my 90 Bronco out front after cleaning up from the circus.

FRM: awesome pictures and like the comments. hope to see you posting on the forum when you can and enjoy some of the great reading in about every area. ask questions if you need to on this thread and I or one of the many members that also welcomes the new guys might have your answer.

so if you had a trailer at the circus were you and your family part of the show?

cheers

Yes. We're sideshow folk. 'Nuff said. :bounce:

Seriously, our company provides support for swing dances (Not swingers, swing dancers), various school sporting events, & this circus. Audio equipment, lighting, dance floor, etc. Not our regular work, but something we have fun with. By day we're contractors/cabinetmakers.

dif,
Yes, the golf course is still there. It sounds like it is pretty popular with the local golfers. And yes, there is a gate that leads from the parking lot to the golf course when they need it for overflow parking. My guess is that the golfers aren't crazy about it. But working with the groundskeepers during the circus, it seems like they really know their stuff. Especially when it comes to protecting the natural grass turf on the field. I would think those guys would have it figured out how to keep the course undamaged in spite of the parking.

I was really excited the first year I got to work there. I had to stop & touch the grass on the field. I was amazed at how very short it was kept & how nice it was up close.
I even took a pic.

They have been doing work to the Rose Bowl in recent years. They built up a new pavilion behind the grandstands for luxury suites. And they enlarged the sideline area down on the field. Out front (Where the Bronco is parked) was redone this year, but I haven't been in to see what was done since they finished. It was torn up at the circus.

FRM: isn't it amazing what the pros can do to make a perfect blade of grass grow so that they can cut short without turning it brown? you might want to go check out the vintage tool section because Don (looks like he's a neighbor of sorts) just posted one of the coolest garage shop cabinets I've ever seen on the Blackhawk tool thread.

hang in that section and you'll find me a lot and you'll also probably want to own a lot of those cool old tools. make some room in your garage and hang on to your wallet now that you have joined our group because i guarantee your tool collection will grow some or a lot.
