I was going through some tools and stuff my father gave me a few years ago and came across this set.

I believe it is use to mark electrical wires for trouble shooting ,etc.
Basically a bunch of color code T&B tie wraps. Looks unused.

My father is a retired heavy equipment mechanic and this kit was amongst a bunch of stuff he gave me when he retired. I forgot about this kit until i came across it yesterday.

Any of you guys remember these and ever used them?....

Cheers

Glen

I keep a length of ethernet wire in my toolboxes for this purpose. Tie a piece on each half when you break fittings and plugs while splitting tractors or equipment.

I used them to identify cable/wire for telephone lines. There is a color scheme that is followed when laying down wires for voice and data. There is an order to the colors and stripes.

Most phone/data wire techs have these sets in their trucks, though they do not get used as often these days. I have mine out in the hobby shop for use on my electronic projects and RC toys.

They're out of order! Blue orange green brown slate/white red black yellow violet. The sequence is burned into my retinas.

I never was a phone guy, but I worked around a bunch of em. They had other mnemonics as well, but a lot of the others got pretty crude.
