A big hello from the North side of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
My wife and I recently purchased our first true family home about 9 months after welcoming our beautiful son into our family, it didn't take us long to realise that the small two bed, one bath with single carport home we owned at the time would not be suitable for a growing family so we cleaned up the 100 year old wood panel 'Queenslander', sold it and moved somewhat North purchasing a brick 5 bed 2 bath with 2 car garage.

I began to get tired of the garage not having a suitable bench or work area so I took the opportunity to personalise it and make it my own while also sorting out all of the random junk that had been accumulating since moving.

After cleaning out and rearranging the contents of the garage I put up a 1200mm (4 foot) wide cabinet with internal peg board.

After stalking many threads on here i drew up in CAD the base model for my bench taking a great deal of information and inspiration from the wealth of knowledge on here, looking back i think should thank allinon72 as I feel my design took a great deal from their design.

I took the easy route with the cabinet doors making a simple 4 part frame with ply backing tacked on

As I want to finish my bench to a somewhat tidy level, I have begun to affix 3mm (1/8") MDF to the face, the sides will receive the same treatment prior to filling, priming and paint.

Very much looking forward to completing this project while learning from this forum along the way. The bench once completed will be placed under the wall mounted cabinet, topped by a 3/4" pine panel not yet shown in photos.
