If you want the more expensive glass mat AutoCraft Platinum AGM Battery, there is a $25 rebate at this link. So you could stack the $50 cash off, then $25 mailed rebate, for a total of $75 off after rebate.

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/o/rebates#autocraft

That will get you an Absorbent Glass Mat battery for about a hundred bucks.

How do y'all learn these? I get the WD54 since it is on their web page, but last time it was WD53__ (forget what the last two digits were), and the TRT41?

Like most things, research is key. Trt41 always works. $40 off $100. Trt30 is 30% off up to $50 max. There's smaller codes, but IMO not worth the Hassel. I've used trt41 doing a brake over haul and saved $80-$120. Braking the order up in three orders.

Last year I probably saved $500 vs. Just paying in store. Aap is so much better then autozone rewards. I stopped shopping at autozone for parts once I found out how easy the aap codes are.

Use the codes on EVERYTHING (minus fluids and sale items) SK tools, truck accessories, etc.

How does autozone compete with this? All my business goes to advance auto. Its a no brainer.

I generally buy parts from Worldpac or IMC, which is still notably less. SK is still cheaper at Tooltopia, National Tool Warehouse, etc. The Milwaukee stuff is where these deals are phenomenal.

I think the whole reason AAP did this was to compete with Rock Auto, and to a lesser degree Amazon.

I used to buy everything from Rock Auto, but with the coupon codes the price at AAP comes really close (and less in some cases) than Rock Auto.

Plus, most stuff is in stock at AAP, so I can run over and get it when I want it, and not wait for days on Rock Auto. Also, if something is wrong or bad, it's easy to just run over to AAP and swap it out.

I also never walk into AAP and buy anything, even little stuff like cans of brake cleaner. Before going over, I enter the order online, drop in a coupon code, place the order, print it, then run over and get it. You can always find at least a 30% off coupon code.

Amazon is doing Sunday delivery around here.. and a lot of things you can order Saturday afternoon and get them on Sunday for only a few dollars extra

I had a water pump that needed to be changed unexpectedly last weekend. Advance couldn't get me one for a few days.. Amazon was cheaper AND had it in my hands at 10:30am Sunday morning. I ordered it about noon on Saturday.

They are going to have a hard time competing with that if they don't have common parts available

YMMV, I find RockAuto cheaper than Amazon for almost all parts for my car. And far better selection of brands.

No doubt about that... they would have been cheaper, but when I needed a part to make my car go to work on Monday morning... price kind of went out the window and amazon won

Just one example. Usually I try to buy from local businesses if I can

And I find them to be about equal. Prime gives Amazon an edge because I can get it very fast. Rockauto's shipping can make them no cheaper than Amazon and returns are easier at Amazon. I recently picked up ABS sensors for my Honda on Amazon for half of Rockauto's pricing.

I still love rockauto and support them when their prices allow me to do so.

I've never had a problem with Rockauto's return. As a matter of fact it is easier than Amazon. I just call them, tell them the issue, and they immediately credit back my credit card. I don't even have to return the item back to them.

I three-way shop; RockAuto, AAP, and Amazon. Based on price, sales tax, shipping speed, in-stock, and do I need it right away to get to work, or can I wait, etc. May the best man win! Good for the customer to have three viable options.

Wow, didn't know RA was that liberal with returns. I just assumed it would be a pain and I would eat shipping both ways.

I never really buy auto parts on line. When i need it i just go get it. Autozone is closest and seemingly more convenient, but Advance alway seems like they know a little more and better all around customer service. So thanks for the coupon codes. I do need a battery. Guess where I'm going!

I'm looking at a battery for $111.99. Can anyone suggest a nice little $15 filler tool to get me over $125?

Thanks

Thanks for idea on the channel locks. I found a pair I could use for $13.29 which pushed me over $125. So for an extra $3.29 I got a pair of channel locks. Seems like a no brainer.

Just tried WD54 and it said "The promotion code you have entered is not available at this time. Please try again later."

Looks like the deal is dead.

No advance near me so I'm stuck with autozone. I get real parts from rock auto and amazon.
Really want this coupon though as my last oil change for two cars ran over $100

They have shipping. Free over $75. I've still yet to see where rockoauto or Amazon beat or is worth it to get parts from.

But, advanced can't help you with oil change prices.

Want Autozone fun? Do what my wife and I did. Pull a set of air shocks off a car you bought installed them on 26 years ago and hand them the sales ticket with lifetime warranty. "Well sir, we don't carry those anymore.'' Well we bought these in good faith, and they are leaking down overnight now. Lifetime is stated on the ticket as long as we still own the car, and we do.

Long story short, they ordered us a different brand and gave them to us. The manager honored the lifetime warranty being we still own the car.

Sheesh, surprised the ink was still on the receipt, most of the time it fades after a few years. Used to keep all gas receipts from cars for when I sold them, but the ink disappears.

I have good luck with ink kept in a dark light free firesafe.

But the tricky part was he still asked for the phone number. I had to crash my brain a minute to remember what my first number was for only three months before getting this one. Had this one all my married life but did have a first phone only three months when I first got married and had to change it when I moved to this county. I answered his question right though.

Why would the new owne care about gas receipts?

And recipets from 26 years ago likely was printed with real ink on real paper. Not with laser in . I have reciepts in my glove box from the po for everything done to the truck. Including the battery from 10 years ago.
