Cool  If I ever buy a bigger box it's going to be a Lista. Make sure you post pics when you get it.

finally managed to sell my old SO Harley Davidson box, just got off the phone with Joe from Motorhead Extraordinaire, can't wait for my new Lista to be built!
the best part was the CFO gave me $3,000 max to spend, Motorhead beat that by a few dollars with tax! I can't believe the difference in price from the tool truck brands.

@rowerwet congratulations on your Lista purchase, please share photos when you get it!

In my opinion the Lista vidmar equipto type boxes are beefier than the truck brands and without the bling look. I have both a snap on and an equipto and the equipto is a better box for my needs.

The snap on was good, after I get the lista I'll do a comparison. The issue for me was the drawer sizes. my cheapo International tool box had deeper drawers, and I used the depth to buy SO wrench racks that stood the wrenches up. (the ones with the red plastic loops) I also used them for my pliers. the 2" deep drawer on the SO box wouldn't allow the larger wrenches to stand up and close the drawer (anything over 13/16") and laid out flat they took up a ton of room.
On the 1.5" deep drawers none of the pliers could stand up in the racks, making my pliers take two drawers where one held them all before.
The Lista has drawers more usefull for my tools. I also hated having a black toolbox (everybody here has one) since we push our boxes to the plane to be worked on, having every box here black got confusing.
I found the SO drawer lock system (very important for a box that gets moved across the hangar at least twice a day) to be cheesy, I broke the cheap plastic slide off the end on four of the drawers in the few months I used the box. Added to that the fact my dealer can't bother to show up, or the average of once a month he did, he didn't have any replacement parts... Right now I'm using a borrowed Craftsman roll away, which has a drawer latch system 100 times better, and this is a box aimed at the home garage IMO. I'm also using a Husky top box with a latch system that I know works better for the first year or so ( the International had the same system)
I also don't have a motorcycle, let alone a Harley, I got a great deal on the old box, part of the idea was to sell it and get what I wanted, I made a profit on the SO.
Lista boxes are a steal compared to SO prices! The big difference is that Snap on is really a finance company, spotting the dealers for their trucks, territories, tools on the truck, then the dealer lets you pay off the tool on weekly payment. the cost of all that credit outlay, and the dealer cut, along with the cost to drive a big heavy truck to your shop every week, is why any similar SO box will cost double what Lista charges. The HD SO size box today cost about 6K off the truck, even Lista list price is almost half of that. For the next size up (47" tall) SO wants about 8K, Lista comes in about 4-5K depending on drawer layout.

took a drive down to the Lista plant today to pick up my new box. Kind of funny when I found out that Lista's factory is in Holliston, MA. My dad grew up there, and I spent plenty of time there visiting my grandmother. She liked to walk a lot and we used to visit one of her friends that lived almost withing sight of the Lista plant.
Holliston has one real claim to fame, if you like Baseball, or poetry, you probably know the poem, "Casey at the bat". Mudville is where my dad grew up, just around the corner from my grandmothers house is the "statue" of Casey, and a plaque about the poem. The ball field is across route 16 behind the Mobil station near the center of town.
Anyway, I picked up the tool box today, I was very happy with the way they prep it for shipping. We got almost 4" of snow this morning, so the roads were wet and messy. I brought horse blankets and a tarp to cover the box, but Lista already had the box on a pallet, in a plastic bag, then covered with a cardboard top and corners and then wrapped in another layer of plastic wrap. All I had to do was strap it down for the drive to it's new home.
After I got the pallet off the trailer and the box off the pallet, I spent a few hours moving in enough tools to be able to go right to work tomorrow.
Compared to SO, the drawer locks are a nice solid design, not full width like SO or craftsman, but that just helps keep people out who don't belong.
I couldn't move everything in as two of the drawers on the left bank do not have liners. I'm not sure if this is an oversight, but it seems weird since the rest all have liners, including the extra deep bottom drawer in the same size. I know the factory shipping area was stuffed with boxes ready to go, they may just have been extra busy. I'm gonna have to grab a roll of drawer liner for those two drawers before I move in to them.
The slides are super beefy, compared to SO, and the metal gage looks thicker all around.
The SO guy has been busy recently, with 5 new boxes in our hangar in the last year. More than one of the new box owners, came over and comented on how much nicer the Lista wheels are, especially the lock on the wheels. Our hangar floor is pitched so water will drain to the middle, SO boxes will start to roll, even with the brake on.
Once I move into all the drawers the Husky box will move to my garage at home.

Very, very nice box. Your customers will see that you take your profession very seriously!

Am I correct that Lista is the only tool box manufacturer which has drawers that can be configured into the compartments? Neither SO, Mac, Matco, or Craftsman don't offer that feature?

One other neat thing abou the drawer organizer dividers, no matter where you install them, the holes in the bottom flange line up with those peg board looking holes in the bottom of the drawer, they include self taping screws to anchor the dividers.
the drawer handles have clear plastic covers on them, they include a sheet of lables and a link to download a program to print the lables, so you can have each drawer marked, and even bar coded. For a shop box this would be really nice, for my personal box, I know where my tools are, I don't want people in my drawers without me knowing.
One thing a bit different is the lack of a lip around the sides and back of the box, the top is completely flat. Probably this is stronger than a box with a lip. The top mat is held in place with double sided tape, instead of the edge lips.
I also really like how the box comes with a Motorhead Extraodinaire sticker right on the front, though some people are confused since the box doesn't say Lista anywhere on it.

There is another brand out there to that makes a Lista style toolbox. Cant remember the name. They were at the Louisville farm machinery show last year. They were USA made to.

Edit,
Think this is the brand I saw at the show. http://www.storloc.com/

http://www.storloc.com/PDF/2015/2015-winter-shows.pdf

And Congratulations to the OP. Lista makes a very, very nice box.

Those Stor Loc boxes are ridiculously cheap feeling, the drawers do not open or close well under load, the drawers rack really bad in the slides (dont open even side to side) and they look unfinished/homemade in person. The price and lack of a lifetime warranty is another joke.

Nice box... but I'm still trying to figure out why your trailer is chain-link...
Air resistance, and I had the fencing cheap, thanks to CL, I got it for pennies on the dollar. Just had to tear it down. I got the trailer for free, it was a rotted out pop up, I inflated the tires, and dragged it home. Most of it went in a bon fire, the rest got scrapped for cash. A few good bits were saved for my teardrop trailer. Overall the trailer cost me $100

Lista is too expensive over here. Why do you guys buy that stuff at US prices? :)
Because it's cheaper than Snap-On boxes and capable of yielding better tool organization. Snap-On boxes are often purchased by many professional tradesmen so the price range of Lista is tolerable, IMO.

A lot of ppl on here don't even buy Lista new, they get them half off or less for used cabinets.

Nice looking box. What did I learn today ? That Lista makes tool boxes with wheels on them. I never realized they made them, I thought it was all basic "storage room" type boxes.

I like competition at this level and if I was a decent trader might have sold the snap for something more reasonable or at a profit. I am not that fussy but sometimes you need a tool box, I would have a hard time swinging 10 large for a couple though.

I paid 75 for a used Cman 25 yrs ago, bought a new set 35 ago and am waiting for a real excuse to bump one to storage and replace with a HF44 at about 10% of a Lista,,,, hahaha

Shopping is so much better today, can shop for premium used and knockoff super competitive new.
Its got so good they almost give it away and there is no reason to wait to afford the best. There is a lot to be said for being affordable. The cost of a new 44 makes it practical to retire old junk that would need work and a lot of days it just simply sits. More expensive would only be a liability,,, ha

sberry: I have a small 2-car garage and I believe Vidmar cabinets works better for me. I started out with a HF44 ten years ago and then moved up to the Husky about five yrs ago. When I got on this board, all of the SO box owners, specifically KRL box owners, prefer their deep slide out drawers. I didn't understand why they like the deep drawers until I got two of the small Lista box in the second picture. What sold me on Vidmar or Lista are:
-Deep drawers
-Sturdy drawer box
-built-in slots for compartments

While using the small Lista boxes in conjunction with the Huskies, I knew I had to completely change my storage cabinets.

Before: about 15ft long (10ft workbench + 52" rolling box) and kept my stuff organized
2vd2mad.jpg

After: 11ft long (two 30" wide vidmar + 6ft wide table) and kept more of my stuff organized. Gonna repaint them in the future.

The left box with 8-drawer configuration, I think it's pretty rare that it's like that but I'm gonna reconfigure both boxes in the future. Left box will be for material and big tools; the right one will be mainly all hand tools.
