Went to 3 different HF's this morning and all of them have both sizes on clearance.

1/2 is $13.97
3/8 is $12.97

You can always stack the 20% coupons on top. Got a 2nd 1/2 for 12.01 out the door

Yeah, the 72 tooth models are being replaced with 48 tooth models.

Not as far as I know. These come from William Tool, and they apparently switched designs for one reason or another.

Thanks,

I just looked them up, and there is a video showing the inside of thier 72 tooth composite ratchet. As well as a bunch of 5 star reviews I was impressed with the construction, I'm going to pick a couple up tomorrow. They say the handles of the composite ratchet don't stay ice cold in the winter like the metal ones.

Isn't that a step in the wrong direction.

Did they have a problem with the 72 tooth models?

Chris

Maybe they figure: "The head can move so no need to put the more expensive drive in there." I assume it's more expensive but could go either way depends on what they consider standardized.

I would decline using an indexing 1/2" though...principle alone seems off. I won't judge how other people work though.
