I offered the guy 2 and a 1/2 times the price of what he payed for this sign that he had purchased recently and he is going to think about it and let me know, his wife was keen but he wasn't to excited about the money but time will tell if i get the call back or not.

Oh I'd love to have that splitie in my barn:) Is the red car a old ambulance or a hearse? that's unusual.
So were you on a walkabout with all the pictures?:D

Hi GJers, i recently came across some plain red eskies/coolers/chilli bins at a fair price but they looked a bit boring so i decided to brighten them up a little, i made a set for myself and also made a set to sell at one of the major swapmeets that i attend over here.

Also scored a heap of panel hammers and dollies off a gentleman
037_zps37679fd6.jpg

And the score of the day was the Shell sign, the guy had just unscrewed them off a building that morning and paid $450 for 2 of them and said i can pick either one and have it for $450 so he could keep his for free, he was happy and i was really happy, it measures 6 foot by 9 foot or just under 2meters by 3 meters.

046_zps61f7033d.jpg

Just have to find a spot for all the other items i had to take down to put this big bugga up, can't wait to build another shed so i will have more wall space. I still have to take pics of my latest finds on my trip down south and upload them in the next couple of days.
Thanks for stopping in guys.

Good thing you sold the ice chest's. Looks like you found some cool things, I bet that battery charger weights 100#, probably has some good ole cooper wire inside.
The big Shell sign looks at home on the wall, did you buff buff on it?

Some neat creations you made there, you are sorta folksy in the things you build. Loved that piston drag strip Christmas tree. Some nice scores too. Thanks for sharing

That battery charger just about broke the old back mate, i had to carry it about 400meters or so and boy was i glad i got to my camp site before the legs gave in, i just washed the sign down with wax and greece remover and then a bit INOX or CRC orWD40 they all work the same.

I think it runs in the family as my Grandparents where always making things to sell and my Mother and her sisters are all a bit arty farty when it comes to making things.

So i have been flooded with work this last week and i haven't felt like doing much for myself after hours but one thing that has been bugging me is the BBQ area walls.

So i thought i would go with the rustic look that i have with a lot of other things around the place, the wife doesn't like the mini corrugated iron and said i should of went with the full size rustic stuff so i told her if she want's to change it the tools are in the shed, i have a funny feeling it will stay the way it is.

I am also in the build process of another couple of different signs, one being on the same lines as these 2 next pics that i found on the Internet.

So hopefully i will be able to make something along those lines.

Oh man, that is looking greatl Lee!!! Gotta disagree with your wife's assessment of the corrugated metal's, I really like the combination of the large and small corrugated metal, I think the contrast works great here. The large corrugations are hard to find here, I've been looking for some for months. Some "cool stools" you have there also. I use to fall off those things a lot in my younger days, now I have a hard time even climbing up on one.
How wide is that "bar" running along the wall? I have some nice old pine 2x10's I am planning on using along one of my walls but not sure that will be wide enough.
That "GET GAS" sign would work great far a Chili's restaurant. Can't wait to see your rendition!!

OH YEAH, that's got my seal of approval. I'd be happy to sit my *** down and have a Foster's, on the saddle if it had a seat belt:beer:
I think the set up is great, the only thing I didn't see was a left over town drunk, and some kind of lights hanging across the top of the inside roof. I do like the saddle stool, is that made by you or is that a store item?
Do you have any pictures of the outside looking in? I was wondering if you had a place for people to stand on the outside while talking to people on the inside? Or maybe put a foot rail along the bottom? or its fine just the way it is.
To BuickFarmer, I thought I seen some of the wide tin at a Home Depot, I think the narrow stuff was the older of the two. I think they use the narrow because its more stronger and it seem to cost more?
The white color ice chest/ pop machine that says kincrame, is that a local brand, is it a old or new company? I seen the bar stool that matches.
