i saw you guys have your battery jumper/power source ad sent through email again, maybe you'll know the answer, but what is the 12000mah rating rated at for voltage. i tried contacting antigravity batteries who sell the same unit under another name and got no response. but it provides power output at 12v for standard accessories, 5.7 for laptops, and has usb charging as well. not sure which output they put their rating at.

The 12,000mAh battery (and the 17,000mAh battery in our 7785) is rated at 12V.
The front ports on the unit pass through a circuit board for the sake of smart charging via the input port, and regulating amperage and voltage for the outputs 5V, 12V, 19.5V in the 7775's case or 5V, 12V, 16V and 19.5V in the 7785's case.

The 12V out that the jumper cables plug into is a live terminal hard-wired to the battery (which is why you do not need to turn the unit on to use it, and why you should be careful). These ports you can measure with a voltage meter/Fluke to have a look for yourself at what the battery puts out in its natural state.

The Antigravity 12,000 mah rating is at 3.3v, which is expected for a unit of that size.

That's likely for each cell, it's a multi stack lithium battery. Each cell isn't 12kmAh nor is each cell 12V.

It has to be multi-stack. I don't know of any lithium-based battery with a natural voltage state of 12v. They've most likely derived 12ah based total Whr. At 12v, I expect the capacity to be ~3.3ah.

Perfect opportunity to further QC our 7763 Circuit Tester coming out soon. This is a 7775 out of the box (will read slightly higher when fully charged).

But what kind of capacity are you guys getting at 12v? I highly doubt 12ah worth otherwise your unit would be pretty large. Which lithium chemistry are you guys using?

If this is what Kracin was asking, I apologize for not answering it in the same way he asked.

About 3.7Ah would be your answer there, and 5.25Ah for the 7785.

I actually just noticed it states 44.4wh on the battery, so that can be calculated out to the 3.7v rating as well, doh!

The other part of the email that wasnt answered by antigravity was what kind of temps is it ok to store this battery in. I keep it in the armrest area of my console so it would be in the car during 0 degree temps, and un heat as well. Will these units survive decent cold and heat ranges without ill effects?

Howdy Astro dude, just thought I'd say I've purchased a few of your tools lately through Woot and so far have been very pleased with the quality. Add that to some excellent pricing and it's a complete win. Thanks

That paint hanger thing-a-ma-bob is a great idea. Could use something like that but in truth I'm probably not willing to give up the floor space. Still looks useful though!!

How do you respond to THIS review ?

I'm not astro but I think you have to take a review like this with a grain of salt. To many variables to be able to tell if it was the tool or something else. Maybe the reviewer was using a small little 30 dollar HF compressor to try and run a cut off tool like this. Maybe they had small air lines. Maybe they had the power all the way down and didn't know. Just to many variables for me to believe one reviewer. Or maybe they got a bum tool but I'm sure if they were to call astro that astro would take care of them. I haven't used one so maybe it is low powered. But I usually don't let a review like that affect my purchase decisions. Unless there are tons of bad reviews.

If astro wants to send out a 209 for a honest review I'd love to see how much power it really does have. I have a panel or two I could sacrifice and even some steel plate. Have lots of stuff to cut up! I have a good air setup so it would power the tool at it's max.

How do you respond to THIS review ?

Well, to save time the tool is 0.5HP - which should be getting the job done on a 3" cut-off tool as many competing designs are below that power rating. On an in-line tool the ergonomics allow you to push it more quickly through material then approaching it from a 90 degree - so that's some of it.

If there's a general consensus, opinions about a tool, or issue with it - we try to address amazon reviews directly and help if we can. But single or even a handful of reviews can often be.... well off base some times.
We've had people send in this very unit saying it wasn't very powerful, see nothing wrong and have to inform them of the power adjustment knob on the side.
