Well things are looking up in my shop. I got divorced 8 years ago and had to sell all my shop equipment, welder, Bridgeport, lathe etc. Well yesterday I took delivery of my new Acer Emill 3VS and got it wired up. It is so smooth and tight. I got the 4 digital readout as well. I just started ordering tooling for it today but I did get a nice vise, set of collets, drill chuck and arbor with it. Now all I need is another lathe and I will be all set. Just takes time and money. I also enclosed a couple shots of my latest project, an older Ford Bronco im restoring. Enjoying life
thanks for looking Paul

Yeah Ive always had Millermatics. I used to have a welding machine shop years ago, then became a deputy sheriff. Could never get the love of welding and machining and restoring things out of my blood. That is my first love for sure. Paul

It sure is addicting! After taking a class in HS I'm hooked.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the mill? I feel you're better off getting a new one vs a used Bridgeport unless the price is sky high!

I gave 10,000.00 for the mill with the Newell DRO. It has some improvements over the Bridgeport. Ive been looking a long time for a Bridgeport with no luck. they were all worn out. my last Bridgeport came out of an Aero Space Lab in Texas and it was nice. Ive done lots of research on the Acer and the machine shops ive talked to liked them better than the Bridgeport and they hold up very well. I do want to buy American when I can but even the Bridgeports are supposed to be sourced to Taiwan now. The new basic Bridgeport was 16,000.00 so I opted for the Acer which has better features and comparable build quality. Paul

It's sad that even a Bridgeport is made over seas now. I hope you get a lot of use out of the Acer!

Yes I will make a video soon. I should be able to do it on my I-phone and put it on here I think. This machine is so quiet and smooth. It could be wired 3 phase or single with just hooking up a few wires in the back box. that's all there was to it and it runs so nice with the VS. I just have to be very careful on my next choice of woman I end up marrying because I sure the hell don't want to do this all over again. Luckily I had the skills to build my own new home and shop so I saved a lot of money doing it myself but I tell you it took me a while to get over the shock of having to sell everything with my divorce. ( im guess im preaching to the young guys thinking of getting married here) just be careful on your choice and get a prenup. Paul
