I have a brand new pack of 12-2 underground (gray), Can i just use this inside shop for plugs and lights as opposed to yellow 12-2. I assume since same wire no issues, but I dont know the code that well so coming to yall for final decision and money savings since I already have it from previous wiring.

Yes, it's allowed. It's not that bad to work with, I have a piece in my attic when I was all out of Romex.

I literally wouldn't use UF to wire a building if you gave it to me free. That stuff is a complete pain in the *** to strip.

They have a tool to strip uf? I have cut my hand open more than once trying to strip that stuff. I would also buy romex before wiring a shop with uf.

I would save it and think of some other project for it. It wouldn't be waste if you can come up with another use right a way. Come on think, think.

Get some NM-B

It's what I used to wire my air compressor. Pain to strip, but durable. Whoever had my house before me got it backwards and used indoor romex underground and ran it out to a pole next to the pool. Every time it rains it would trip the breaker, so it's now disabled.

Yeah, the uf slides in and when you close it part of it holds the uf and another part pulls it,then you pull rest off by hand, ideal makes it

I also use my razor knife and separate the ground wire at the tip, then two pairs of pliers or linesman and pull on the ground and one of the other wires, you can pretty much pull the ground back as far as you need and separate wires
