Who knows?
Matco guy decided to show up today. I've been wanting this 1/2" ratchet from Armstrong but I don't believe they sell one with this long of a handle

Plus he's having a raffle to win one of two prizes. Either a service cart or a shotgun. I put mine in for the gun

You are going to love that ratchet man. She's a beast!!!

And you're right, Armstrong doesn't make one that long.

Very nice ratchet, I have the same one without the grip... use it constantly.

Only in America would your tool guy be giving away a gun lol

BTW what kind of box is that? Cornwell maybe...

I know right! I have a conceal carry license (very rarely will I actually carry) but between a cart that I don't need or a shotgun I don't need, the gun will have a better resale value lol.

Yes it's a Cornwell 58" box with a hutch. It got repo'd from some guy that barely used it and I jumped on it being half off the new price. Love it.

finally a stud detector worth something.

my stanley piece of **** was useless as the edge would move when taking multiple measurements or going left to right vs right to left.

Just an FYI to those of you asking about this Franklin stud finder. Yes it is awesome and Costco has one that's made for them, its blue has a different name but its the exact same tool. I bought it... I believe for $35.

Here is the slickdeals thread discussing it.

What impressed me, i had to find a stud in the bathroom that had tile on the wall. It found the stud on the first try. :rocker:

It keeps going off in the car for some reason tho;)

What is the overall length? And price? I'm debating the 25" SO, and if this could work, I might have to find the Matco guy in town.
Thanks

Personal preference but if I'm yanking on it with 2 feet of leverage I want the flex head that locks into place.

I don't know why people think they need a flex head that locks?
You have used breaker bars before right? .....they don't lock
Especially with something that long...whatever angle u hold it at is what angle ur gonna be at. I personally have owned the snap on locking ratchet and I sold it. Before I sold it I would never lock it anywY just because I found it useless. I don't own a single locking ratchet anymore and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I guess some people think if it doesn't lock that your gonna be flopping all over the place and as ur loosening something the handle is gonna pivot and ur hand is gonna go slamming into the side of the vehicle or something. ......it is complete opposite of this

I find locking just happens to get it the way in ur rotation if u have to move it some to go around an obstacle.
To each his own but I'm sure most people that have used both will chime in and say that they prefer non locking. Plus it's just one extra addition to the ratchet to create a weak point.

I agree with this. You have a lot of control with a long handle. Also, the Snap-On dual 80 ratchets seem to get smoother as the drive size gets bigger. I don't feel like that's the same with the Matco/Armstrong ratchets. I'm unbiased and own both styles in 1/2" drive, and I prefer the Snap-On.

The problem is when you lean into it, it can and will move. Sometimes you can't always apply force in the perfect direction. I have the Snap On that locks, I very rarely use the lock feature. I would say that I have to unlock it more because it locked by accident. I am planning on getting the one that does not lock as well.

8 piece SK-Kraeuter deep 1/2 drive set that someone posted in hot deals a while ago.

Really pleased with how they look. (the black marks on some of the sockets in the photo are just a reflection of some stuff on the surface they're on)

Picked up a few things this week. Matco blower and heater. Matco mini ratchet and mini bit kit. Finally bit the bullet and got a 3m sun gun. I also ordered a little pneumatic buffer from the Mac guy today.

Got the best deal I couldnt ask for an Ingersoll Rand 7811G. Came packaged with an Ingersoll Rand 2100G 1/2" air impact on clearance at my local Canadian Tire for 101.99$ instead of 339.99$ I just couldnt pass it up, I have a feeling someone messed up the price tagging in the system. I asked if there was more (caus I would'v bought them all) turns out it was just that one over stock that been sitting in the warehouse for a while. I'v put the air impact for sale for 120$ because I purchased an Ingersoll Rand Thunder Gun not so long ago so I dont need anither impact and I was looking to buy a Keyless chuck reversable air drill. Turns out I'm getting a free IR air drill out of the deal.

Agreed. The snap-on is better. The dual 80 mechanism is smoother then the matco/armstrong 88. The non-locking really isn't an issue on this big of a ratchet.

100% Agree. I have all snap on non locking ratchets including the big 25 3/4 in 1/2 in dr. I have never had any one of them move on me while using it.

If I'm spending big money on a ratchet it will be Snap On. The Matco just seems/feels cheap to me compared to the SO
