looking for an adapter for an impact socket to go from 1/2" to 1" . can this be done with 1 adapter or do I need 2? can't find any that go from 1/2 to 1
I don't have any 3/4" stuff and the only 1" is an impact for trailer hitch balls

Ah ha, well since you're working with a $2.00 socket, and probably don't want to spend a bunch of money on adapters you might try fitting some 1/4" flat steel bar inside the socket to choke it down to 1/2". If you carefully cut some pieces, hold them in place with a 1/2" drive extension, and tack weld them from the inside.

What size is the socket? You can probably get a random old USA brand off ebay for <$15. Not sure if it is worth fooling with that one or buying the adapters.

IT'S 1-13/16 I won't use it all that much and I don't want to spend a lot on adapters that wont get used either. I assumed it was 3/4 drive and would get 1 adapter. never paid much attention to the drive, I was more concerned with the rest of it . when I got it home and looked was when I realized the 1" drive

Based on the material specification and finish I'm pretty sure it is impact duty. It is designed to speed up the process after breaking loose. There isn't a huge market for adapters to allow people to use a 2x jump in drive sizes. ;)
