Another curve to the getting eco running by April 1st now another 3 weeks of nothing gettiing done.
4 pm monday My oldest daughter sends me a text . .
Will you have time sometime this week/weekend to paint my Bronco?
I told her I need to have my Eco running by April 1st and really do not have the time .
This is a Bronco (1986) that has been sitting for 15yrs although when she picked it up for free a couple years ago she did rebuild the entire fuel system got it going (46k original miles) But sitting in the AZ sun for so long has really messed it up.
Again, anyone who paints knows how long a full job takes, my '66 482 project I started in 2008, Eco started in 2012 and she wants hers done in a week?
She does not have her own veh now that I bought Ranger back,
She WON! She buys all materials (1250.00 so far) And she will also do most of work as in tearing it apart. Prepping, sanding etc. Color change too of course!
Jeesh, wish I could get my own stuff painted in less than 5 years per veh. A week, Are you kidding me?
Because paint was so thin I was able to steam clean most of it off leaving the original baked on primer for a good base. (steaming off paint was actually done when she rebuilt the fuel system)
A few pics this morning as we started teardown last night. The hood and roof had major surface rust as paint was gone from the AZ sun. Appears prior owner had done some sanding on hood.
At this point over last couple weeks it was just getting it on road. New tires etc others were so thin you could see the air in them . . HA
I will only work on it when she shows up after her full day at the Hospital with her getting up at 4 am for work. Will see how this goes . .
As the bronco sits this morning . . . .Just started last evening
Color change and full paint job by saturday evening? My head hurts just thinking about it.
Hello Eco, have not forgotten ya .
