I'm in the process of finishing up my garage. My vision is to paint it with gulf oil blue and orange as trim colors. Some one out there must have the color codes or name of these two colors. I've searched online but the blue that shows up is the lighter on used for there cars... thanks

I can't help with color codes, but I was raised in Sunoco stations and Gulf stations from the early 60's through the 80's. The oil company distributors supplied oil based paint for whatever you needed and it was labeled specific for that brand. Maybe you could locate a Distributor who has been in business long enough to help out. Back in those days all the companies had maintenance men who looked after things like that. Just a thought.

My dad owned a gulf station. He retired a few yrs back and we threw out gallons of the paint. I never thought I would want to paint my garage that color. I thought with me having old memorabilia thought the colors would fit.

There is still some out there, or maybe even one of the new porcelain GULF signs and if you could find someone in a paint dept. who gives a ---- about helping you they could match it up.

Find a Gulf logo, and print it off, take it to Lowes and have them color match it. And the newer printers will come close enough that no one will know if the color is a tad off. For shits and giggles, I printed a $5 bill when I go my new printer and the color was spot on. And yes, I tore it up and only did it once, so anyone I have paid money to.....it has been the real deal.

Found this on another site

Powder blue (PPG 12163)
Topaz (orange) (PPG 60812)
Royal Blue for thin stripe between orange stripe and powder blue (PPG 13126)

You can use Porsche colors. The codes are:
Gulf Blue - Porsche 73 - Code 328 or J9
Gulf Orange - Porsche 72-73 - Code 019
For Royal Blue you can take a Dark Blue

This is from the GT40 website: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=12417&d=1137461869

From another site:

Heritage Blue Paint: BASF WH738989 - Manufacturer BSAF
Epic Orange Paint: BASF WH731465 - Manufacturer BSAF
Black Pin Stripe Tape: 72602 - Manufacturer 3M

Not sure if this will help: http://www.milspeccoating.com/Federal-Standard-595-Colors-s/41.htm

You can print this off for a color match, but to me the orange looks washed out

Thanks. If you can get the codes that would be great and I can get some samples to try.

I was too although it ended in the mid '70s. My Dad started with a BA station and I remember clearly when Gulf took over in Canada in 1966. Switching from red & green to blue & orange seemed weird at first but we adapted. I later used a lot of Sunoco blue & yellow on the off road cars I raced. I was kind of glad I didn't have to race red & green cars! Blue & orange would have been fine.
